Seem to remember talk of potentially a play-off if Utd and City ended up inseparable on GD/GF. Make it mid June so their preseason is screwed and then Arsenal lose. Perfect.
Realistically I think Pool will screw it up (as do many Pool fans).

I know what you are saying, but from a fans perspective, do we really care about league placing if it means the club wins a bit more money? At the moment theres a few million more per few places. Maybe we will.

You really need to make it more relevant for the clubs stuck in mid table for "more" excitement. Maybe like have a play off for the final 4th spot and or the final relegation spot?
 
Chelsea, Citeh and United can easily afford not to qualify and be unaffected. Arsenal, The Mousers and Spurs can afford it least. On a selfish basis, I would rather Arsenal or Liverpool are weakened, solely to strengthen us. I have no preference as to which of the two.

Clubs are run for the owners by the owners. If you think that foreign owners give a **** about fans and what they think beyond their money, you're likely to be disappointed. Fans in Timbuktu and Mumbai and Beijing are becoming more important than domestic fans. We'll pay less and less of the clubs' income and will turn up no matter what. Foreign fans bring new income and need to be wooed. Pretty much every owner will jump at the 39th game if there's enough bunce involved.

Currently, they get an enormous bag of money just for turning up. Threaten to give some of that to someone else and you'll soon get their attention. Forget the fans and what we want, capitalism owns football now.

I wrote on the Arsenal board that I can see it being more likely that Liverpool will slip up than Man City. Not that I expect Liverpool to lose to Middlesbrough at Anfield.

Think about it. The Liverpool players will know exactly what hangs on the result. They will know that Arsenal are likely to beat Everton. They will know that a loss to Middlesbrough will mean that they have blown CL football next season. The pressure on those players will be immense!

Don't get me wrong. I am expecting the pressure to act as an incentive to hound Middlesbrough off the park. I'm merely pointing out that this is potentially a doubled-edged sword.

It's going to be bloody exciting whatever the result!

Given how Watford have had their feet up for a few weeks (other than pissing in the Chavs' cereal on Monday night) it would take some superhuman bungling on City's part to finish in the Europa places

...I expect to be paid £300 in bitcoins by anyone who has a reason to use that quote in their sig next season.

Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal all face a possible play-off to determine qualification for next season's Champions League.
The three clubs, occupying third to fifth place in the Premier League, are separated by three points going into Sunday's final round of games.
But their goal difference, and goals scored, are similar enough to raise the realistic prospect of two teams finishing joint third or fourth with identical records - necessitating a one-off play-off match.

Because Citeh and Chelski bought their current status, they didn't earn it. A fact that is never mentioned anymore, if it ever was, by the pundits. They have finances out of all proportion to their real income, and can spend hundreds of millions on players and if those players turn out to be failures they simply buy more. They ignore the so-called financial fair play by dodgy dealing and get away with it. If they do well then the managers are lauded, yet when they fail they get nowhere near the criticism handed out "in financial proportion" to teams like us. Compared to Citeh and Chelski, Arsenal earn their money. I could go on....
