Firmino and Lucas both doubts. Hopefully Firmino can pull through and Lallana has to start for me

If Lucas is struggling he cannot play cos God love him he can't get about when fit.

I think Firmino will get himself on pitch. I've given him consistent credit for that commitment.

Yes lallana must start. Can Wij, Lallana if Lucas is out... hope to god for high press then.

No origi for me or it will be 0-0 on 75mins or worse

Firmino hasn't bothered since the Stoke match.

Hmmmmm.. dunno I'd go that strong. I think he's not done enough and Mr origi and him is not working.

Coutinho and Firmino are not getting close enough to each other on the pitch imo. Get lallana and sturridge in and this could help

It boils down to 1 thing

Big fat betty swollocks (is that 2 things?). Do we have them? No excuses now, finish the chances, get the job done.

No starting slow or any of that ****, get out and do it. They have some important players missing and we need to just take the game to them and be confident in what we do

To be honest if we miss out now dont look any further than players not getting their arses into gear early on in some matches for whatever reason.

I do wonder if some think, "hang on, will I be sold if we qualify" though <laugh>

We didnt play like a team that can perform when it really matters against southampton, and that was more worrying than the result itself, although the same tried tactics didnt help.

On paper we should be beating the West Ham XI that is likely to start, but in the last 5 years we've never won a game that defines our season. The only time we've made top 4 in that time was when we aimed for the title, so we qualified without really worrying about it.

Simple fact is, we have to find a way to win our last two games. You just know Arsenal will win their last 3 no matter how badly they play, so Liverpool have to do the same and not expect any more favours elsewhere.

We just look depressingly bang-average, if that. There is utterly no spark, and unless Coutinho has a moment of two of magic, the rest of the team are, well - plodders. It took a worldie, ffs, to beat a ****e, lethargic Watford, and even then, despite being camped in their half and passing the ball from side to side for most of the game, we were still hanging on for dear life at the end when they hit the bar. And please, don't anyone start on injuries and ****ing 'tiredness'. City, Unitard and, especially, Arsenal have all been hit by injuries and have still played on multiple fronts, but we've only been in one competition since late January.

Nah, if we can't win our last two games we just simply don't deserve CL football, and even if we get it (30/70 against, I'd say) I expect, being unseeded and the fact that Klopp won't buy anyone anyway), we'll as likely get knocked out in the qualifiers. And the fact that Klopp thinks Chelsea have been 'lucky': I ****ing despair that he'll ever work out this league.

I think donga is the view I most align with.

1. Coutinho had a dead leg all week, he looked way off pace in game.

2. I genuinely think there's players there that did their best and that's just it.. it was slow, ponderous and poor but they did their best so bang average is fair.

3. I would add that it's dead right about Watford. The absolute rubbish served up in last 10 was cringworthy there. We were lucky they are that ****.

4. I would just say there's just 1 or 2 who should be doing better imo and changes should be made there. Mr origi comes to mind.

Look back to the games with Origi he hasn't had a lot of clear chances to work with. Sturridge is very good at creating something out of nothing, similar to Coutinho. But Origi and Firmino are players who need that support to finish.

We need to score and we don't look like scoring. So stick Sturridge up top and don't expect him to work or press. Let's be honest, all that pressing got us nowhere against an out of form Southampton team.

He's not the answer for next season but needs must and all that....
as part of a 3 or with a partner.
i did wonder about midfield / attack of
Lala Can Wini
Couts
Firm/Origi Studge

but since we re away i expect the normal 11 since have won last 3 away

You could play 3 behind him in a 4-2-3-1.

I don't think we've got the players for any other formation tbh. It's even hard putting Origi in the '3' and any type of 4-4-2 formation would be difficult. 3-5-2 would be the only other option but we looked useless last time out. I wouldn't like to be Klopp this weekend tbh...

If it comes down to the last game and you need us to get something at the Emirates, that'll make it interesting on here <laugh>

Be 100% honest. Would you rather win and secure Liverpool with 4th place.

Or lose and allow arsenal to overtake?

this is why i expect the normal system though if the game was at anfield then i think there may have been a change in formation

When players miss chances you usually hear people saying "least he's getting into the right positions to miss them". Does not work the opposite way too? Origi isn't getting into the right positions so that's why he's starved of chances?

I reckon I'd give Studge a go tbh. Coutinho and Firmino either side / just behind

Recent noises talking about if Couthino could play deeper....

I reckon Klopp might seriously consider a change in formation next season, with Coutinho taking up a role similar to that of Hazard for Cheslea this season. All we'd be missing then is the rest of the team <laugh>
