Southend sits one point behind Millwall for the final playoff spot going into League One's final round of play. They host Bury while Millwall is away to Bristol Rovers (Southend owns the GD advantage, by the way). Southend to the playoffs and possibly Championship next season? Perish the thought!

while Millwall is away ?

Southend owns the GD advantage?

Wait until Castrol sees this, he'll have a full on eppy.

And that was after a load of our fans gave him abuse

Exactly. What would any of us have done? And we would've loved it if one of our players did that to a former club after getting loads of stick. It wasn't even as if he broke any rules / laws in doing it.

For some reason we don't with a lot of iconic former players/managers.
The Luke warm reception brown and ashbee got compared to the loud cheers people like Boyd and Walters get , bemuses me ... Southend are always the first result I look out for after city , Brown is proving he is a good coach / manager , despite people only ever remembering the on pitch karaoke - people often forget The impact he first had after taking over From Parky And saving us in the championship , never mind all that followed

It's a shame how people's memories are subconsciously changed after the event. I remember the amazement when PB was sacked, hardly anyone wanted it, yet now the majority will say he should have gone earlier.

Plenty wanted it, by the time he left we were appalling.

We were, but that was expected. We always looked like being the worst equipped side in the league. This was before the more recent phenomenon of fans of **** teams thinking their **** team has a right to stay up.

Brownie was obviously brilliant for us, but I think by the time he left, he'd lost most of the fans. Playing wingers as lone strikers, Kilbane ahead of Geo and all sorts of other odd decisions had seen him gradually losing support the longer the season went on. Though the change came too late and nobody wanted Dowie as his replacement.
