Supporters of all clubs I believe find it amazing that Leeds....Sorry Bates isn't willing to Invest what the club and its supporters deserve.
Consistantly the biggest income and Gates outside the Prem including extra income from good cup runs and the added £££ from being on TV most often at the inconvenience off the fans....Wasting money on cosmetic surgery on the ground rather than the heart of the club etc etc. Could go on and on.

Bates is unable to be transparent about his own club but has been very quick to quote mention other clubs/players in his slimy patter.
One of the Largest wage bills? How? Look at the squad and the length or - lack of length of contracts handed out a true sign of non confidence from the top to the players.

Surprised how the YEP provide a platform for this nonsense. Makes me glad that my team Southampton don't speak to our local The Daily Echo rather have them at war than a puppet local press.

Hope dirty leeds :) supporters one day get the reward they deserve from an owner. Sufferered for too long IMHO.

why cant you guys realise, the gate reciepts we earn doesnt even pay for our wage bill, we get profit, it goes into 17 different departments to improve the way the club is running and the rest goes to grayson. He decides what he does with that.

I actually just saw an article where leeds fans have voted for ridsdale over bates and i just cant believe people's memories. You guys are blind

I'm not a Bates fan but for anyone to vote Ridsdale over him is madness.

You are = like a lot of Leeds followers = totallt deluded. Without Bates you would have disappeared long ago. All you clever people have an alternative - get yourselves together & buy him out. Unless of course you are like most Leeds followers - no money & no hope, but very good at spending other peoples money

Suppose you prefer the Murdoch News of the world type true and ethical media to get your information from.
Fact is there is there is no socialist press they are all more right wing than that.

That's not actually true, there were other suitors when Leeds were in admin, but Bates fiddled the deal to make himself the only party that the debtors would agree to selling too, mainly because he was that debtor(something he may well yet get into trouble for). Peter Wilkinson as owner, with Adam Pearson as Chairman would have been a far better deal.

The biggest laugh all day, 25,000 home crowd, 23 home games excluding cups average ticket price of £30.00

    23 x 25,000 x £30.00 = £17,250,000.00

We have a first team squad of 25 we all know biggest earners are on £12k a week so you know the Tom Lee's and Aidan Whites are on probably half that but anyway, take that £17.25 million and divide it by the 25 first team players and it averages £13,269.23 a week. Well we know highest earner is £12k a week and there are only three on that amount...

Don't give me **** that the gate receipts don't cover wages, simple math proves otherwise.

Remember, I am using 25k as an average home game, it is a little over that and I am excluding cup games.

Bates has a 'breakeven' figure for attendances which is supposed to cover the wage bill and rent for ER, if my understanding is correct. We exceed that every year and make much more on top of that in terms of merchandise, food and drink, programmes, TV money, et cet. There's been plenty of money in the club.

    Who rattled your cage?

    A) I wouldn't have been seen dead buying the News of the World or any other lowlife newspapers.
    B) With regards football rumours I take them with a pinch of salt whichever media outlet is reporting them.
    C) Some are more left of centre than others,& I've found them to be the least reliable.
    D) Get your facts right before assuming I get my information from the Murdoch gutter press.

Btw,New Orleans? Great city, fantastic people, one of the best places I've visited
    <cheers>

I guess on this occasion you rattled my cage.
I agree with your points A and B.
Not yet found a paper though that is socialist in nature other than the morning star, left of center though i am not sure. That was the only real point i was making.
As for point D maybe i was wrong to assume, but more often than not in my experience people that spout about socialism are sun and news of the world readers. I apologize if this is not you.

I will say this though, for all the things not right at Elland Road at least you get a chance to go, i have to rely on the internet to get information about my team and follow things from afar.

    MOT Comrade.

    Comrade?
So the fact that I dislike the Sun & News of the World but also dislike socialism makes me a communist?
Please stop talking rubbish. I'm more right wing fascist than communist.
You're assumptions are so far wide of the mark its laughable. Stop assuming I'm this, that or the other & try commenting on football/Leeds United related matters.

it's not other people's money, it's our money. The money we constantly pump into the club through tickets and merchandise and memberships and whatever the hell else.

wow I seem to have rattled your cage and never intended to. Calling somebody comrade has nothing to do with communism and i never assumed or suggested that you were a communist. Indeed it is you who has made that assumption from what i wrote. Indeed i apologized for making an assumption.

Just to be clear... I used the word comrade as meaning somebody who is united in the same cause which is supporting the same team. Why do you assume the word comrade means communist? Here is the true meaning.... Comrade means "friend", "colleague", or "ally". The word comes from French camarade.

Any way enough of this lets stick to all things Leeds United.

Yours in sport ( hope this is better). MOT

Also, it's nice that he saved the club. We all appreciate that. Doesn't mean he shouldn't still **** off now. Him spouting that line all the time is akin to saving someone's life and then telling them they're not allowed to complain when you beat them up.
