Arsenal Players who they wanted to keep but sold cos they demanded a move in the last 10 years.
Henry, Fabregas, Song, Adebayor, RVP, Nasri, Clichy, Song, Cole
I left of Vamarlen (excuse spelling) and Hleb cos I was not sure about them.

Out of that list Fabregas, Adeybayor, RVP, Nasri and Clichy I would agree with. Although we had RVP's best years (as short as they were) And Adebayor is a ****, but he played for you and took 100k per week whilst he sat on his arse, so he's forgiven.

Henry had given us the best years of his career, and didn't demand a move for more money. It was sad when he went, but he went with our blessings.

Song was a bit ****, we mugged Barca for him. Also you can't name him twice you cheeky **** <grr>

Vermaelen had dropped down the pecking order at Arsenal and again we sold him at the right time, since he left his career has gone into obscurity. (he has been injured to be fair)

Hleb again the same, good at Arsenal then turned crap so we sold him.

Over the years we have mugged Barca for players that no longer feature in Arsenal's plans. We even took Fabregas from them and we got Sanchez from them for a bargain too.

No, reality is that we only sell players that we don't need.

If we ever sell a key player it's only because they have demanded a transfer in writing. In those cases the club will try to persuade the player to change his mind. But, if they are dead set on leaving, there really isn't much else any club can do apart from get the very best deal you can for that player.

I think in the view of most clubs it's futile trying to cling on to a player who's head is elsewhere.

So you didn't need Bale anymore?

Your current side desperately needs a world class game breaker to move up a level and win trophies.

You could also use his winning mentality in big games

That's a pretty pathetic Wum attempt. Even by your low standards.

You know perfectly well why Bale left, and it wasn't because the club was happy to sell him.

Henry won the CL at Barca and was a key player as was RVP in winning the title for United and Arsenal wanted to keep both imo.
We could argue that Keane shouldn't count cos he was shot at pool and we got him back 6 months later for £9m less than we sold him for. We can argue that Berbatov went to united but was a bit part player cos he only came on as s sub in one CL final and didn't even make the bench in the other.
But even with your list (which I think massively underplays it) that makes you as much a selling club as us.
The truth is Arsenal have sold more "wanted" players than us. Money talks unfortunately.

And Song was Seriously good...so good I had to name him twice <laugh>

Anyway work calls so I'm off

Exactly great players want to win things.....it's natural although you didn't want to sell he went for that very reason. Your wide boy has to put his hand on his heart and stop putting money in front of success. You'll never be a top club while he's cashing in.

If you understood football, which you dont because i suspect you got no lekky in your cave, anyway...you would understand that a player who is disruptive with his mentality, refusing to play and all in all causing a negative atmosphere at the club, much to the detriment of the whole..then that player is not needed by our club...his talents maybe...but hes not a Spurs fan...he always wanted to play for Madrid..just like Ronaldo wanted to play for Madrid..a bigger and more successful club like United could not keep him..United would love to have Ronaldo for the whole of his career...their fans crave him even now.

Whats your point? apart from none of them wanted to join the giants that are Chelsea <laugh>

He was tapped up by Liverpool who had to make a fairly large donation to the Tottenham Foundation to persuade Levy to not proceed with his official complaint. We did not give them all of their money back, as he was obviously damaged by the experience of being a Liverpool player

He only 'cashes in', as you call it, when he's given no other option by a key player demanding a transfer.

I'm well aware, as I'm sure are the club, that top players want to be at a top club. We're currently 2nd in the league, after finishing third last year. So short of going abroad, where would you go?

There's a world class stadium coming. The stated ambition is to build a world class team to go with it. Selling our best players doesn't fit wit that aim. As Mp and Levy have just restated.

Was even better...we sold him for £20m and bought him back for £12m just six months later.
He did well for us for about another 10 months then pissed Harry off by taking the team to get pissed in Dublin so he was out on his arse.

Him and Berbatov were brilliant together and a lot less effective apart.
