A teacher round our way was found guilty of having sex with 5 pupils. Three were over 16 so it came under the duty of care heading and two were 15. He only got 5 years.

I wish some headline writers would learn the definition of a *****phile. There may be a number of epithets which could be applied to Johnson because of his actions but *****phile is not one of the. There are a number of countries in the EU where itv wouldn't have been a criminal offence. Not to mention countries where it would be considered almost mandatory.

My 'fix' in bold seems more appropriate. The country it takes place in doesn't seem to bare any relevance.

According to psychiatric definition, no, he isn't a *****. As far as we are aware, he's not exclusively attracted to pre-pubescent kids. At best, he's a ephebophile, but even then that's not strictly accurate as his partner was over 19.

He's a statutory rapist, judged by a court of law and now society. It's his own fault.

You can't help get the feeling he got the sentence he did because he was a footballer. I would consider the case of the teacher I mentioned worthy of a longer sentence than the one he got.
There are some rock stars and a hip DJ beloved by many on here who were self admitted statutory rapists.

BTW, he isn't a statutory rapist. There is no such crime under UK law, though there is in the USA.

In footage obtained by The Sun he is seen sitting in what appears to be a laundry room of Moorland Prison, South Yorkshire, when he is asked by someone: "It's not like you ----ing raped her or owt like that?"


Laughing, he replies: "No, I wish I ----ing did for six years."

This lead me to assume that sentence was referring to Brits.

Then why not say so? You can't libel the dead. Why didn't he say the offences were committed in the USA?

Anyhow John Peel married a 15 year old in Texas which was legal.

Exactly. People keep going on about this but he lived in America at the time and it was legal in that state. Just cos it's illegal by our laws doesn't make it a crime.
