My God, I know he has 'presence' in the box, but Carroll is raw. Terrible touch and no footballing brain.

Liverpool faded badly in the 2nd half. Well deserved point for Sunderland, could have won it even.

Well, could have been better, could have been worse. Sunderland are a decent team and you never know how the first game of the season is going to go. I do think Kenny made a mistake with having Flannagan and Henderson on the right though, very strange decision.

Sounds like Richardson should have been sent off as well which would have changed things, but what can you do...

If you're talking about the early penalty incident, even your very own Jan Molby stated that it wasn't a foul and a blatent dive by your player...

We showed in the first half that we have the players and the skill. In the 2nd we didn't play and I'm still trying to figure out why.

Sunderland did well. great strike from Larson. But Syd Brown got away with murder and Richardson should have been sent off. Good luck to the mackems for the rest of the season.

There was enough in the first half to still have confidence and enough missing in the 2nd to ask questions

Our fitness was awful, I don't know what our coaches have been doing over the summer but maybe we should've gone to Switzerland or something and avoided the long flights to China. Fairplay to Sunderland though, they were well worth the point after their second half performance and Brown looks a shrewd buy if he can keep fit for most of the season.

I disagree, he didn't dive. Watch the replays and Richardson definetly caught the player.

I'm not sure about the reasons they gave in relation to not presenting a red, apparently because Suarez was going away from goal its meant to be a yellow, although the rule book states it should be a red due to it being a goalscoring opportunity. He would've been clear of the keeper if he hadn't been brought down.

Anyway, I'm not going to go over. In the end we got a point and Sunderland deserved something for their fightback <ok>

Seb Larsson is very average having watched a lot of him for Birmingham, so why did he pick this game to pull that goal out?

Sunderland deserved their point, well done lads, though it's always annoying when we absolutely cruise the first half, and then with the slightest of pressure we concede first thing second half, and suddenly we're lost. We still hit the bar, missed a pen, and had a goal disallowed, and sunderland only had one chance other than the one they scored, so it'l go down as one of those games.

Feel like it's going to take a few games for us to get the best out of Carroll. Problem with playing 4-4-2, is that as soon as we conceded we got stretched and then were just swamped. We can play 442 if we're passing well, but 2nd half it destroyed us. Also Carroll suffers if there is no one right behind him to pick up his knockdowns, and if we play Lucas and Adam (who both like to sit deep) he just gets frustrated.

Main thing is not to panic though. Could have been a lot worse, we should have won the game, and if we beat Arsenal all will be forgotten!

Accoring to Charlie Nicholas on Soccer Satuday it was a blatant penalty and red card, and they never normally have a kind word to say about Liverpool on that show? I've not seen it so can't judge myself, just saying what I heard.

We just seemed to tire in the 2nd half. Didn't really help that Meireles came on, having only played half a game in pre-season. Aquilani would have been better in his place on the bench.

no offence mate but that's bollocks..Richardson didn't even touch him, so if anything the booking should have been given for diving...And surely even the most partisan Liverpool supporter must admit that the ref gave the vast majority of decisions your way!
