Hopefully after moaning about the inevitable 'bent' ref on the match thread , you'll be nowhere to be seen next week![]()
If they'd told you to hang fire for a bit, would you?

They want his money, and see him as a meal ticket, he knows it, and milks it for all it's worth
He has a tack of giving them a taste of it, then smashing the life out of them while they get ideas of having hooked the big one, and then he tells them he's not financing the new stadium. It's quality tbf.
anyway................
internationals are not get over really but LFC team should be becoming clearer
Lallana and clyne should be now back at anfield for training.
Henderson is back in training
mane is playing in barnet someplace today so can be back wednesday in melwood
wijnaludm plays tomorrow also.
however coutinho and firmino won't be back til Friday realistically also the belgian stupid ****s went to play a stupid menaingless game v russian away tomorrow so origi and mingolet won't be back until close on friday either!!!
It is intensely frustrating that utterly meaningless friendlies are undertaken AND then we don't have the cynicism to pull our players out of them like utd do
My view is strongly that international sides should be told to only play the competitive games on dates mid season, no friendlies or at least hold them right at season start. Internationla teams seeking cash form glamour ties should bascially be told to faff off until june and do it then.
Alternatively they can cut out the BS money-raising friendlies - mid-season friendlies which are supposed to be preparation for a competitive game must only be played before the competitive game and must have the same squad nominated in advance for both
Ideally yes but scheduling for competitive games relies on teams in the group lining up.
IMO they should take all of that away from teams and as the draw is made the home and away games are allocated with group.
Now... lets face it England were playing lithunobody so set up this friendly v germany to drum up a bit of interest/finance before it. If england had been forced say to play malta or scotland back to back they'd make no cash... but thats just tough eh?
IMO if the FA can't make money or any other coutnry can't make enough they should not be in competitions.
I do agree about the squad thing. Name your squad of 23 and then be forced to work that squad over the two games. If the mancs withdraw players with mystery injuries they miss the competitive game too.
I just think that belgium going to russia for a "friendly" is utterly pointless. seeing lallana play most of both england games is really annoying.
Seeing our two brazilians consistently not back til 24 hours prior to a game is mildly annoying too but understandable.
Maybe there's players you want to give a chance to see on the international stage without having them in the 23 for competitive games. Spain are a good example as they have so much depth, there's loads of players that the manager would like to see but wants to play them in a no risk friendly rather than in a competitive group match.
sure.. those are called b internationals
what you find being serious is Spain will go play a glamour game in dubai or somewhere with 90% of their best team on show due to the type of fixture and ignore bringing on young talent.
being serious the proper way to bring on young talent is to have a proper development squad tour someplace and play 3 friendlies... in the early summer. say ok you are in FA cup final, cl or europa action.. fine no problem but the most won't be so gareth southgate should get them together for 3/4 weeks work with them all and play them in that kind of setting.
Hell organise the damned thing for a home nation thing if desired.
You do this to understand whats there and bring them into your competitive squad when its time.
also to win a world or european nations trophy you can't be chopping and changing. IMO you should have 16/18 absolutely core committed players to pick from and work together for 2 years so you know day 1 of tournament exactly who is players and how they will play.
I don't think i am wrong about this. I also think a cmap like that for guys in late may/early june should be compensated for by clubs in preseason as it should be better for them developmentally than preseason slog.... the sad thing is the international coaches are probably far less able to coach.
Smaller nations don't have the talent pool to have development squad tours and sides. So basically you're penalising top players who play for smaller nations then because they'd have to go along on these tours just to make the numbers up!

no i'm not
if the pool for wales is so small you call up a 17 year old who looks about 12 for a competitive fixture you won't have a problem only playing competitive gamesyou pbably only have 16/18 guys you've ever call on anyway as a result so filling out 3/4 others to give experience is no issue
plus you should still be well able to have a development tours at seasons end and play 3 friendlies wihtout recourse to flying to usa or dubai... don't be playing the poor little wales card here
The issue for england is that england doesn't realise its in as bad if not worse a place as wales. England cannot pick form championship cos if it did there would be hell to pay in the press etc. So england has to pick up any kid going in prem teams and hope they are ok. then half their senior so called stars won't bother the turn up. If anyhitng englands pool of good players who are hardened pros is even smaller than wales as a result
Wales at least has a reliable cohort of players plus the only british "world class" player who will turn up even if injured cos he wants to. England sees defections constantly like rooney and many others and has this incredible disease of picking flavour of the month players and never building continuity.

To be fair we do only play competitive games because its better for our world rankings. We didn't play a single friendly between our Euro 2016 qualifiers and we haven't played one since before the Euros. Maybe that's why we have less withdrawals than England, because we don't play many 'pointless' games therefore we have a better relationship with the players respective clubs.
The poor little Wales card got us to the semi-final because people kept underestimating us
What you say about England is true, there's not even consistency in their decisions, team selection or tactics. Once there's a bit of clamour for a player to come in, like Carroll for example, even if he doesn't fit into the playing style at all they'll chuck him in and act all surprised when it doesn't work out. Michael Keane is another example, he plays for a team that plays really narrowly and he gets loads of protection from the full backs and holding midfielders then he's expected to go to England team and play in a team that's expected to play really expansively in a team that centre backs will be exposed 1v1 a lot more often, its only going to go wrong IMO.
