We don't and he doesn't.

We'll be looking to hit the channels if we go long at times. The danger for you lot is if we manage to play through the high press and release the likes of Barkley, Lukaku and Mirallas with balls in behind

Agreed, it's getting our CB's turned around that will cause problems. Can needs to cover the left channel so that Klavan isn't getting dragged out by Lukaku when Milner is forward.

If you are hitting channels you will still be looking towards lucky pulling out on klavan. If you don't you are morons :)

you haven't the talent to play through a high press with barry :)

barkely is too fat to play anyway

And mirallas... please please play him. please.

Also i can write the script now. YOu lot will be the ones high pressing for about 20mins and then lucky will be blowing stop running and do nothing for rest of game :)

The best chance you have is to get lucky on klavan in the box or on long ball and absolutely tonk him. If LFC play klanan having seen what others have done to him oer past few weeks we deserve to lose :)

Davis and Gana have more than enough talent to play through your press.

Barkley fat? Lukaku running out of steam after 20 mins? This isn't Martinez team mate, they're as fit as fleas under Koeman. Lukaku has scored hatfuls of late goals this season against tired defences.

I think you've just jinxed yourself with Mirallas btw ;)

davis will be sent off in 5 mins :)

If you don't rememebr last year when lucky did just exactly that then fine :) he will be puffing ater 20 if you as him to actually move very much <whistle>

Oh, I dunno: Barkley seemed quite capable of avoiding a (very deserved) red card in the last derby. One of many, including Fellaini and Mrialles, who've achieved this feat in recent derbies. :emoticon-0112-wonde

They know the refs think its a hard mans game so they try it on.

Btw do you know who the ref is lol

Coutinho looking forward to 'intense' derby

'Intense' is the word that springs to Philippe Coutinho's mind when he ponders the prospect of Saturday's Merseyside derby at Anfield.

Liverpool host Everton in the 228th edition of the fixture this weekend, with six points currently separating the fourth-placed Reds and the Blues, who sit seventh, in the Premier League standings.

Coutinho is yet to taste defeat in the derby, with the Brazilian also having scored twice in seven appearances against Everton since his arrival at Anfield in January 2013.

However, the Reds required a stoppage-time winner from Sadio Mane to snatch all three points from the reverse fixture at Goodison Park earlier this season, and Coutinho is anticipating another hard-fought and passionate affair this time around.

“The rivalry is like any derby - it’s intense. I’ve experienced these games both home and away and the intensity is equal with the fans,” the No.10 told Premier League Productions.

“You’re always on TV, it’s one of the most difficult games and I don’t think this one will be any different.”

Coutinho went on to explain that meetings with arch-rivals carry an added significance for players, as well as supporters.

“They’re very good!” he replied, when asked to describe what Merseyside derbies are like to play in.

“The week before the game, you can’t wait to play and if you win, the level of joy you give to the fans is amazing. They’re the victories you always enjoy.”

A win this weekend would see Liverpool solidify their place in the top four, and Coutinho is determined to end the campaign strongly to secure a return to the Champions League.

“It’s very important, obviously it’s our aim [to finish in the top four],” the 24-year-old added.

“All the games are like finals and if we’re going to achieve our aim we need a lot of points.”

All Everton need to do is sit deep and play us on the counter. Then launch a long ball down our left side and watch Milner and Klavan run into each other.

IMo thats not how it can or will work and lucky will eat klavan alive if he plays.

Why should klavan keep his place? if you apply the logic about can then surely mr klavan having coughed up at least IMO two goals in last games should not?
You never liked Klavan from day one and have been waiting for the opportunity to rip into him. <laugh>
There were a couple of occasions in the City game where Matip really should have done better, but he got away with his errors whereas Klavan didn't.
But Aguero does that to people, many of whom are a lot better than Klavan. Just because a defender gets done doesn't always mean he's crap, sometimes you have to give credit to the opposition.
Klavan is a decent back-up and was never expected to be anything more than that, but he keeps his place unless the alternative is ready.

Dont even blame Klavan for the goal. Was just a brilliant cross and brilliant movement from aguero. It's very rarely one persons fault a goal is conceded and can usually be put down to 2 or 3 errors. Can't remember who but someone let them get easy ball down the left and allow to switch play, Milner was too far off de Bruyne to allow him to bring it down and time to cross etc. It's usually the guy closest to the goal or scorer or last piece of action that's blamed though.

Klavans been decent last few games. Some people were ripping into him after burnley as well because gray beat him to the ball once. Think just picking holes for sake of it

He's been ok for most of the times he's been called upon - apart from the point of view of people who call someone **** for not being perfect.
Occasionally his limitations have been highlighted - he's not tall enough and if he gets his positioning wrong he's not really fast enough to recover it against a quick attacker - but like I said, he's back-up.
We're not in a position to have a bench full of worldies, and I don't see the point of condemning those who do a decent job when called upon.

tbf he had a decent game at Goodison

That said, I hope he plays on Saturday as I fancy Lukaku to skin him and Milner down that channel

Defo one of the weaker areas you'll be looking to exploit. It'll be interesting to see how we try to counter it.
It's always difficult to call these games, depends on whose up for it the most.
