Not how I remember most of it.....the bloke was often trashed viciously on the forums. Not much respect for the bloke who broke through the glass ceiling after 104 years.

Agreed. Even now he's usually mentioned as some sort of joke figure by a lot of City fans.

In a way, he's our mini-series version of Ranieri.

Not that I need to justify myself to anyone,
You certainly should not have to. I did not go to many games until about 10 years ago. Other things to do on a Saturday, like being involved in another sport. I cannot name the team that turned out against Torquay, mind you I struggle to remember anyone's name.

When it came down to it, you stood up for what you believe in and that is all that counts. I do not agree with everything you post, but your support does not need to be questioned.

As for Phil Brown, he did have the piss taken out of him, he was mocked by the support and he did take a beating on the forums but I do believe that the majority of the Hull City supporter base will always thank him for where he took us. I liked him, in fact I still like him.

Not digging you out here but find it 'bizarre' that you never attended City games when you were living down there. They were always an exiles day out, even for people who were not bona fide City fans just people living down there who enjoyed an afternoon in the company of fellow citizens tired of the turds down there.
Some cracking days out at Brentford, Fulham, Orient and even Millwall in the 80s/90s.

I didn't 'never' attend games, I just didn't regularly attend games, nor did I make any particular effort to attend games.

Football went off my radar, I was completely driven at work.

Obviously after I moved back and I got into it again, it was much more passionately than before, particularly as my son was also on board, but the success that followed was completely coincidental.

You support how and when you can, or wish to. Changes in your, or your clubs, circumstances might trigger that change. Being critical of what someone else does deserves a Brown Shirt award. Saying 'I'm not digging you out' deserves a digging for its utter hypocrisy.

Phil Brown worked hard to enjoy our lasting fondness for his early achievements, he also worked effortlessly to make himself look a proper Herbert. I wanted him to leave, but his leaving was very poorly managed; something we soon found to be a norm at our club, once more.

OLM, TOM and SCARB are three of our well known posters whose support I thoroughly admire; there are a few others who I would like to admire, but I find it hard when they use their own chosen support as a daft stick to try and bash others with.

It's grow up time for some; football support is supposed to be fun.

..which is fair enough, each to their own and all that, but for most true supporters it doesn't go off the radar, whether they attend or not.

And going back to the original point of all this ****, someone who missed most of the last 15 years of the last century and didn't have to endure the dross years will have a better perspective of what constitutes a 'good' or a 'bad' manager.

Wait a ****ing second.

Maybe our success when you got back into it wasn't coincidental at all...

Could you **** off for say, 2 years again? I'd like to see us in the Champions League.

Kinda funny you being questioned on your support, hard to think of a more passionate and hard working for us fan, in all areas of support.

****. I'm under qualified to comment. Bummer.

I hope every manager we have in the next thirty years is as **** as Steve Bruce was for us.

Pure hatred of the bloke on here. Can't understand that.

I don't think we'll ever experience anyone who tripled the debt - left a squad that wasn't fit for purpose - played **** negative football that drove supporters away - committed the worst case of nepotism ever seen in any sport - and who legged it because the owner didn't trust him to spunk any more money after the vast majority of the value of his signings either stood still or tanked in a time of hyper inflation in footballer values - I hope we never experience anything like Steve Bruce ever again - and now Villa are experiencing it, they think exactly the same - I appreciate he's your BFF and you're infatuated with him but trust me you're making yourself look like an obsessed chubby chaser

He definitely nicked your pen didn't he!!

Haters gonna hate.

There's only one person obsessed with Bruce and it's you. Trawling villa boards. Bringing him up at every opportunity.

I stopped supporting City, in that I stopped attending games. I remained a City fan, as they were still my team and I still followed the club and their results.

I don't retract the inarticulate muppet remark, as it's entirely accurate.

In fact, it's probably the most flattering thing I could come up with.
You clever arrogant bastard. Come and say that to my face you self opinionated arsehole.
