Always thought that the Artic Corsair was in the wrong place, even more so for the C.O.C. gig, Ostend show how things could be in Hull.
Good. But why not Princes Dock? A redundant mass of water for most of the year, or even the Marina near to the Spurn Lightboat.
Spurn light ship is also being moved, it's in the way of the new Castle Street footbridge. I assume the reason the ship is staying near the river, is because they want to keep it in the museum quarter. It's part of a £3.5m maritime history development, which will also see the reopening of the dock in which HMS Bounty was built. It's also a ****ing big ship, it's not easy to pick it up and dump it in a sealed bit of water.
I'm glad it's moving to the old dry dock, it's good to see the dock being repurposed at last and it's a rather lovely corner of the city that a lot of people won't often see.
Tried to get Flood tickets last night. They were sold out If anybody has any going spare... Booked for the Humber Bridge thing too. Having to take an afternoon off work for it cos all the weekends were fully booked. It's a tad annoying that it seems like announcements and on sales were at the same time giving people less time to look at what's on and plan. I didn't see the announcements til the evening. Nice to see that events are proving popular though.
More the developer, it was the one property that the council couldn't obtain so put loads of obstacles restricting the build
Not sure if this has been posted yet Great song and video In fact I think the last chorus might have the makings of a terrace anthem?!
Loads suddenly appeared and then immediately sold out! We got tickets for Primal Scream, Flaming Lips & the Humber Bridge sound thing but missed the Flood one I think Apparently the Royal Ballet tickets were going like hot cakes...but that's a cultural step too far even for me!
