We're on a shoestring now, especially with the new stadium to be paid for.

If MP stays, and he's given the right backing once the stadium is paid for, then yes, we should be capable of mounting a consistent challenge.

One of the reasons I like young players is that the best ones don't give a **** about reputations. They're trying to make a name for themselves and so they relish doing it against the so called best of the best.
Is bottle something that can be learned or can DL buy some?

They're mostly young, they'll have to learn.

The end of last season was down to disappointment and exhaustion. The Newcastle game was shameful though.

We maybe need one or two more additions and we'll be there or thereabouts. We've come a long way in the last 2-3 years, but we ain't there yet.

"So nothings changed then? Same old sh1t every year in the CL. What exactly is the point of us qualifying for this if we produce the same sh1t year in year out? The capitulation in the league and CL is hard to take."

(Lazarus20000, writing on the Gooner board's match-day thread)

This distraught Gooner is asking the same question, now, that I have been asking for the past 7 or 8 years. He gets a pat on the back, and I am written-off as nothing more than a wum. Go figure.

Whilst I was on the Gooner board, I again noticed the extremely poor turn-out and the extreme paucity of new threads. That board has gone the way of the Chelsea board, and undoubtedly for exactly the same reasons. In the end, a heavy-hand moderation style, with bans and grassing-up used to get rid of those who dare to speak out against Pixie and that Welsh Gooner mod will reap exactly what they sow - destruction and desolation.

It is sad to see a once-thriving board reduced almost to ashes, but no one can say that it is a surprise.
Night shift? What kind of people come in and order a McBreakfast at that time of the morning?

The game management in that game by Wenger and his senior players was ****ing atrocious

Sat on a handy 1-1 at HT to end up losing 5-1 is a shocker. OK they were unlucky with the injury just after HT, but it's still no excuse for their complete collapse second half.

That side lacks leaders imo, and Wenger is now truly past it.

"In the second half we lost Koscielny very quickly - he came off at 1-1 - and finally we collapsed. Bayern are a better team than us as well."

Are they Mr Wenger? On paper yes but this is football and you should be raising your game and going there with the intention of giving them a good spanking. No wonder his players are going there in awe of them before a ball is kicked.

They were the better team in 2012 but our will to win was greater than there's.....we kicked their smug arses on their own patch.

That's why I love Robbie Keane, despite having 8 and counting 'childhood fave club(s)' Barca or Real are not on the list.

Yeah, but to be fair, Bruv, that's only because neither Real nor Barca came calling for him. Had either done so, you can bet your bottom dollar that they'd have been the clubs that he ****ed over as a spotty youth.

.. I think this demonstrates your naivete (or just lack of any real knowledge) when it comes to the beautiful game ... as an Irish kid born in the 1980s he would have been far more likely to have been enamoured with Manchester United or Liverpool as a 'spotty youth' ... happy to help

Why do you feel soiled by it? I just think it's funny.

On one level, yes, it is hilarious, and I am not insensitive to the amusement to be had by Arsenal's humiliating downfall.

But, the flip-side of the coin is the humiliation, as an Englishman, that an English club should so easily be torn apart and toyed with, like a rag-doll, by a brutish German Shepherd.

Bayern 5 v 1 Arsenal

How many times have you heard me say this? I'm getting sick of it.

It happens every year, round about this time. Arsenal get torn apart by a proper CL team, not some noddy team, like they have become.

Le Prof - what a joke that nickname has become for most sensible Gooners - wouldn't last a season at Chelsea or City, so dreadful has been his record in Europe.

I can handle Arsenal losing, it's something we have all come to expect; it's the fact that they get utterly humiliated, time after time. They are genuinely clueless, when they come up against any of the true giants of the game, and we must all bear something of the humiliation and shame.

I have been so dreadfully soiled by tonight's debacle.
Arsenal got twice as many points in the first round than Tottenham and ended up getting knocked out by one of the strongest club teams in the world and your soiled by their efforts . You pretty well shattered your glass house with this thread HAIG . Shake your head and tell me if you hear anything ...lol

Ouch! <rofl> one straight off of the roof <laugh>

It's been interesting listening to TalkSport, today. Every program has been slagging-off Arsenal and, in particular, Wenger. They've had legend after legend pile on and make the same point - that Wenger has to go. Every Gooner-fan that has been interviewed has said exactly the same thing.

Pixie and his dwindling band of Wenger-apologists, in this site, simply do not live in the real world or fan-dom - not that that was something I didn't know - and every single one of the muppets who rim Pixie's arse on this board looks increasingly desperate.

By the way, I note that there has been no sign of Pixie since last night's debacle. How can anyone have any kind of respect for someone like that?

Nothing outside of that game exists for HAIG. Your logic will be batted away with nonsense logic and we will go on.

In the interests of balance ... would you mind listing these 'legends' ... many thanks <ok>
