I'd keep an eye on Hart as well. Clearly a GK is a must in the summer. I get what you say about Karius, young gk in a new league etc (although I don't see much in him that makes me think he'll be a top class GK in the future). Its annoying that GK has now become one of those areas we're constantly looking to sort out, since Reina started dropping clangers.
Agree with both points. Thought we shoulda got Hart when he became available but we'd just bought Karius I think
Begovic is similar to Mig, maybe just a bit more consistent. Still poor with his feet and slow off his line. Iffy from crosses as well, and after not playing for 2 years, who knows where he'll be.
Hart is an average keeper, has just as many clangers in him just don't get picked up on as much as he'd England's darling.
I'd keep what we have goalkeeper wise. Jeez, are Spurs looking to flog Lloris after his recent gaffs, I don't think so. Mign has been pretty solid recently, he should have done better yesterday. So should 9 or 10 others
Dunno why you guys criticise hart so much. He could be more consistent but he pulls off worldies too and hes better than minger. Anyway to the guy who said get begovic he would be an upgrade but not sure what that would do for karius. Begovic isnt going to swap bench warming chelsea for liverpool and i don't see karius developing if he doesnt get games. You either live with his mistakes and develop him by playing him or you loan him out like we did with courtois.
Mig and Karius pull off worldies. That's not the issue. I want my keeper to save the straightforward ones. Sometimes keepers concede, that's happens and some goals keepers can't save them. But the ones they should be saving is what makes a keeper great, doing that plus making worldies makes them WC.
I'd go one further and say you wouldn't mind them making the odd **** up (like twice a season at most) so long as they were making the right decision in the first place. EG, Migs tried to catch a ball yesterday that he clearly need to punch. If you are going to catch it that make sure you get to it, **** anyone and everyone that is in your way!
Id keep my eye on butland. Was standout keeper last year for stoke, looks to be real deal but coming back from injury remains to be seen.
Mig went through spell of punching everything and suddenly looked a lot better. No keeping expert, but I'd say to my keeper if you feel comfortable punching, do it all the time unless under no pressure at all. Seems a lot of keepers, especially foreign ones punch then get slated by pundits (mainly English ones) who say should be catching everything. Whether that then ha simpact sont know, would like to think their view doesn't impact them, but sub consciously, maybe makes them decide to try catch things (which they then get slaughtered for when drop something). For Mig I'd be inclined to say just go punch everything in your box from corners / free kicks. Only try catching if you are under no pressure. When there are 15 other players in box with you don't risk catching then falling into someone and dropping it.
Using yesterdays as an example again, he shouldn't need to be told in that situation! He should instinctively know there is a danger there that needs dealing with. Maybe he thought he would catch it at first attempt? I don't think that is the case as he appears to know it to the ground to take it at the second asking. I think he just didn't realise there was a danger which is ridiculous and unanswerable.
