Who's Jose Font?

Let me explain this once and for all.when a word has an e at the end it is silent,example:Fonte (Fonte) if it had an é it would be Fontay,like José(Josay) if it didn't have the é it would be pronounced as Jos.It is José Fonte not Hosé Fontay or what ever.I know this as I am bilingual.

Always record the Saints games when live on the tv, and looking back through some of the bits of the Leeds game it became more and more annoying with Sky's commentator calling Fonte, Jose 'Font'. Surely they could do a little deeper researcher before the game they are covering and get the pronounciations correct?! Really gets on my nerves!

Another pet hate is when Clive Tyldesley calls Didier Drogba - 'Drogbar', and Nicolas Anelka, 'Nicola'!

Anyone got any qualms with commentators who can't get the names right?

John Motson does the same, with Drogba. It's so annoying.

I have to always correct him out-load from my sofa. One of these days he'll hear me.

Do you mean Almancil?I live in Carvoeiro(about 35mins to the west)hope you have a nice holiday and if you are going to Albufeira or Praia da Rocha(nightclub towns) watch your back because there are some nasty people around that time like 2-5am.

Yeah, near there. Thanks for the nod on the night club scene, but have a peak at my age..... I'll be tucked up in bed long before then. Married, 2 kids and despite probably still possessing some moves, I aint seen a club dance floor in years. Dad dancing at weddings for me only now!
 
Ah to put a long story short he came over here for job purposes.I wouldn't mind living in hampshire really,after living here for so long,its a nice place but after a while it gets a bit boring.
