See its reporting that Palace are close to signing PVA.......well done SAFC, sell one of our better players to one of our main rivals down in the basement....only Sunderland would do that.

Have we any links or anything suggesting he's near to leaving?

Nice move Palace. (if it happens) - even if that's today, and if the received money is available, that leaves us only 8 days to find a LB, good enough, and willing to come.

Why would Palace want him when they just splashed £12m on Schlupp to play that position? Makes no sense imo, mindless paper talk.

The only thing about this that could make me think it true would be the incompetence of the club. It's just about stupid enough for us to do, sell a first teamer to a main rival for about a half of the price we'd have to pay for the same player. Classic us!

Load of ****e, one paper makes a story because of the link between that twat fat sam and us then other papers jump on the bandwagon.
Just hope I don't have to eat my words.

I was being positively cynical but as you imply would be a typical Sunderland foot shooting

Fairly typical for an early story from one source to be reported by everyone by the end of the day. All this will off that one story, tomorrow could be key to seeing if it has legs

On the BBC website 10 minutes ago saying Palace hope to sign PVA this week for 9 million with an extra 3 in add one.
Old story being regurgitated or has this one got legs?

Yeah but when we sign players (like N'Dong) it's for the £13.5m fee that will be paid if all the clauses are met etc) but when we sell, it's for the initial fee according to reports so it looks worse.

We signed Ji Dong Won for a deal worth £4m - turns out he cost us £1m and the other 3m were his wages over the entire length of the contract!!

If we sell him for £12m as a defender, we aren't exactly strengthening their position in defence - but if we move him forward into an attacking role, we're strengthening ours in attack! Can;t work this out if it's true

If this is the only way we can raise funds, and ignoring the crap about Defoe, he's the only player anyone's showing any interest in, then he'll need to go to raise funds.

What a sad situation to be in.

It's rarely as far along as the Media make out. I reckon Palace are in for him.
