Pretty sure BruceysBeak watched it, so did I!
    Anyone else?
I notice the post count went down while it was on :)

I spent the first 10 minutes laughing so much I could hardly breath.

Bringing the Aussies in a prison van was a touch of genius.<ok>

And the Transit was pure class. :) Perfect wolf in sheep's clothing. :emoticon-0116-evilg

It's always class mate, i love the fact that there banter is immature and pointless and opinionated, just like you have with your pals after a few curlers!

    I want that Ferrari, badly...

I could settle for an Aston if pushed mate ;)

They hace a great job, dicking about in cars on a track, and some of the specials they have got to do have been a total hoot.

Getting paid to do that would be sensational, i'm glad i like them all, or i'd hate them, if that makes sense!

Yeah I know what you mean, the 3 of them are likeable as they are so different.<ok>
Still makes me laugh when people complain they don't do proper car reviews. :)

I have a wolf in sheep's clothing myself Volvo T5, had it 10 years and still brings a smile to my face when I drive it.
Never went wrong and only tyres and battery replaced. :)

I've just gone 'sensible' and got rid of my beloved M3, it was like having a testicle removed, it really was, but i was barely using it and it was wasted.

The lad who bought it was absolutely in love with it, which softened the blow.

I replaced it with a 'sensible' Audi a4, 3.2 quattro, ha.

Well it looks more sensible anyway ;)

T5's are rapid, i remember in my younger days getting embroiled in a race with one down the washington highway in my Golf VR6(my favourite car ever), i was fine till 3rd, then he blitzed me, and the VR6 was a quick car.

Aye the Golf would do the quick start on the Volvo it's amazing its pick up though just gets faster and faster.
Luckily only 2 tickets both motorway. :)
Bloody thing drinks more than me though, lucky to get 20 MPG around the town. :(
I have had it over 140 mind, and it felt no different to 60. (On a private road before anyone bites.) :)

My mate has an M3 he loves it but he has been having electrical problems.
Audi a4, 3.2 quattro thats what the son in law wants but can't afford it.

Ha, it's took me years to get to that level mate, i've had some fantastic cars, i started with a 950cc Fiesta mark 2 popular, it was awful, 4 speed, no headrests, truly awful.

We'd still get 6 of us in it mind, haha.

I loved Fiestas, had a mark 3 XR2i, the 1.8 before they went to the Zetec, then had an RS, that was a great car, i loved it, except everytime you hit traffic it would overheat!

Went from there to a clio williams, which i wrote off next to the regal stadium thinking i was Schumacher, then 3 consecutive Golf GTI's, then the VR6, that went in for a BMW 328 coupe, which i hated, then the m3, then the Audi.

I love cars, but i only end up doing about 3ooo miles a year now, it seems such a waste.

I wouldn't worry about people biting mate, anyone who hasn't pushed the limits of their car hasn't lived, i'm 30, and i still never tire of the satisfaction of a car with a load of power and torque when you boot it.

Cars for me should be a passion, i always buy with my heart, not my head.

Electrical problems are RIFE on BMW'S, you never hear it mentioned, somehow, but everyone i know thats ever owned on has had problems at some point.

I had an engine management light stuck on, i took it back to Fawdingtons 7 or 8 times, they diagnostic checked it, no faults, light reset, back on within 30 miles, drove me nuts.

The Audi is flawless, but a little bit 'plain', if you know what i mean. I haven't fell in love with it at all, although it's a very good car, it's just not special in my eyes, the M3 was, the VR6 was, and the Fiesta RS was.

I'm not a pterol head myself but I used to get a company car until the bassas refused to continue it a few months ago because my business mileage has dropped since we mostly all work from home these days.

The best and most enjoyable car I have ever driven was an A4 Quattro. Not your spec, Bruceys, just the basic 1.8 diesel.
But the drive was great and you could hear the quality every time you shut the door. "Clunk".

Times have changed. I bought an 11 year old Rover 75 Conniseur, 56k miles, and I am stunned at how good it is. Looks and drives like new. It's not a boy racer drive, for sure, but it suits my middle-aged station in life.

That 'clunk' is the thing i love the most about german cars mate, they just feel substantial, my mrs has a peugeot 207cc, the build quality on the thing is horrific!

I know a lad with a 1.9tdi a4, and it's still a decent car, they lack a bit of power the smaller engine ones, but they have a load of torque so you don't notice there slow till your trying to get speed on a motorway.

I doubt i'll keep this one long to be hinest, as i say i don't feel any great bond or love for it, which was a suprise to me, i think whatever i had after the m3 was gonna struggle, it's not that i really wanted shot of it, it was just a bit lairy, you could tell when you got out of it in a car park, everyone looked at you with '****er' across their eyes, terrible thing envy is what i say.

My lass hated the noise of it, i loved it, i'd have the window down in car parks and rev the arse of it, like a schoolboy.

I'm sorely tempted to get another one, but i'd take a massive hit on the a4.

Ok fellas, I'm way behind the new series here. It doesn't start until Feb 7th, but did they preview the new Aston Martin one 77? BBC America is the only thing keeping me sane after Fox Soccer Chanel which shows 2 games every Saturday.

Ive got a t5 as well. Im a season ticket holder living in Scarborough & the amount of looks i get on the A19 when rapidly accelerating to the legal limit makes my spine tingle. Its no slouch over the moors either. One day i might even beat a Saxo with a a big exhaust!

First car was a Mk II Golf GTi - toook me a while to clear out student debt before I could afford summit and wanted to wait decent/fun. still may favourite car ever. loads of good memories driving round the UK - of which it saw mostall of it- Scottish highlands, Wales, Cornwall, Norfolk, Lakes et al. Used to drive it as much like a rally car as possible and patch her up every year.

Even proposed to my wife in it by Souter lighthouse!! I was trying to be romantic but the weather was atrocious, so did my pitch in the front seats facing the sea.....she said yes, coz she loved the car more than me I reckon.

Have advanced to a middle-aged mans Saab Aero - great turbo and great ride, loads of power & great fun on the autobahn but eats the gas. Plus with two giant dogs, one has to go in the back seat and keeps licking me ears when I'm driving.

anyhoo.....I must get back to work.

Best "Wolf in sheeps clothing" I have ever driven is a Skoda!!

Nobody expects anything, when they see Skoda they think it will be rubbish. The 3.5l V6 puts 'em back in their place though. It is so funny to see the look on the Audi/BMW/Mercs driver's face, when they try and accelerate to stop you overtaking them and you leave them "biting the dust".

Saab's are awesome cars as well, particular the Aero's.

Most fun car to drive? My sister's little Cooper S (the old mini, not the new ones). It's like driving a go-kart, so much fun round corners and the acceleration is amazing - top speed is limited mind, but when driving round country lanes (i live in the french countryside) the top speed isnt important.

Thre mark 2 GTI was the greatest ever, i had a 16v big bumper model, was my first Golf, i adored it, let down only by the checky seats!

I replaced it with a mark 3 16v, which was a boring, slow heap by comparison(although still a very good car)

    Some nice cars mentioned. <ok>

Brucey just thought is yours a company car or your own?
What MPG do you get in the real world?

The firm my son in law works for doesn't do company cars but he gets a mileage allowance as he is commuting down to N Yorks.

I had the Rover 416 GSI with the Honda engine nice drive and ride.

In 1987 I bought the Honda Integra 1.6 doesn't sound much but my god could it shift. (The child in me loved the flip up lights too.)
I would have kept it till it died , but a nice lady pulled out on Chester road and totalled it. :(

My T5 is the V70 2.3 auto estate, and I have had friends in, cruising up to a ton, then used the kickdown and threw them back in their seats absolutely mint.
The strange thing is the best fuel consumption I get is if I set the cruise to 70 on a motorway . 29-30 MPG
As soon as I touch the heavy pedal I can see the fuel gauge moving faster than the speedo hahaha.

There is a brilliant road on the Isle of Skye practically no traffic and no speed cams no hidden side roads me and the boy had some fun on there. <ok>

It's mine mate, i don't need a car for work, my office is about a minutes walk away from home!

Mpg i get around 18 in traffic, which is horrific, but for motorway miles i've seen it as high as 46, which isn't too shabby for a v6.

Audi told me i'd average close to 30, but that was absolute bollocks, but then i knew that anyway!

Incidentally, i think you should be seeing more tha that on a run in your t5 mate, seems very low.

"Incidentally, i think you should be seeing more tha that on a run in your t5 mate, seems very low."

The only time I drive it sensibly mate is in town and that is 19 to 20, last year up Scotland on holiday I started out with good intentions and tried to drive sensibly and see what I could get the MPG down to.
It lasted until I got to the A9 then my foot started to twitch betwen cameras. :)
I am definitely too heavy footed, so it's all acceleration and late breaking, but as the car is great at handling it's hard to stop. :)

Pretty sure the handbook said 28 to 29 mpg, so I knew what I was getting into.
It has all the toys I got the full spec, Cd changer in the back etc.

Be interesting to see what Benno gets with his.

I got rid of an Alfa Sud shortly after the little one was born

Did the ground up restoration myself with help from a mate who was a mechanic. Paid £50 for the car and then a further £2500 on the restoration.

Found that the car had been re-sprayed from it's original red to blue so we took the paint back, tried to order paint from Alfa who told us they didn't do that original colour any more BUT - Ferrari did.

I phoned Maranello in London to enquire about the price of a litre... I shat myself and then asked the mechanic how many litres we could just about get away with. He said 10 litres was the bare minimum. So, £750 later....

Drove it around for years and as long as it was maintained and looked after the rust never came back that Alfa are so famous for.

Flogged it in the end for £5k and bought the new overseasTOON beast! I drive a Renault Espace... I pride/bull**** myself into happiness that it has a large sunroof <cry>
