Lots of English talent on show for the English manager to watch, JWP, Ryan, JRod and Redmond all impressed, even Forster on the few times he touched the ball managed to find a saints player. There were some negatives for southgate though, Drinkwater, vardy and Gray were all pants
Ah, with England's track record, I bet I can guess which three get call ups...

Missed the first half, but arrived in Suffolk in time for most of the second half.
Looked an extremely comfortable game, with no worries, other than the VVD injury.
As said above, Bertrand would be a very good choice to fill in, should VVD not be ready for the semi, because of his mobility and experience.
Will enjoy the moment, and the three points, before getting too concerned about Wednesday.

Puel confirmed that the injury isn't bad, and that VVD may miss the Semi Final in mid week.

Good win today "away the lads" good stuff Saints.........I'm told the side was more balanced today. Is this true or was it because Leicester were so bad? I gather the first 20 minutes or so it was a tight game after that I gather we just got more and more on top, especily after the goals started to go in. Nice to hear JWP got one and I'm pleased for JRod too. I gather the injury to VVD is not considered to be too bad either. Great result Saints.........

It was van Dijk's aerial ability, mopping up all the crosses and carrying the ball out of defence that we would miss.

Oh, Virgil would be a big loss, without a doubt. Big boots for Stephens to fill, but it helps having Romeu in front of the back four.

Must admit, when Virgil went off the first thing I said was "anyone got Fonte's number?"

Stephens will do fine though.

Buzzing after today's demolition of the reigning Champions, it really should've been six today.
The future of our midfield is in safe hands with Romeu, JWP and Pierre dominating and dictating play, just a shame that Pierre panicked a couple of times in front of goal. Jack Stephens looked assured after coming on and we were rarely under threat.
****ing Albert Steptoe should've been punished for his cynical foul on VVD and I'd like to see the disallowed goal again.

Why not have a back three of Yoshida, Stephens and Bertrand. Then have McQueen and Cedric galloping up the wings. Sounds a bit too Koeman? Maybe not. Thought everyone played well today. Pierre makes Steve look like a sharpshooter.

The disallowed goal was onside, should have stood.

Good win today, very enjoyable to watch and seemed like the saints from the second half of last season.
Tempo was a lot quicker, with midfielders looking forward rather than sideways and backwards.

Might just be a coincidence but the spirit amongst players appeared a lot better today. Also noticed all subbed players shaking Puel's hand and getting a cheeky pat on the bum. :emoticon-0105-wink:
