I doubt Jake will be sat there haggling back and forth, that's what agents are for. All Jake has to do is turn up for a medical and sign a piece of paper. It doesn't matter where he is for terms to be agreed. Telephones and emails exist anyway.
We needed a right back in the Summer even if only on a six month loan. Get a winger, get a right back, get what else you need. Then sell.
Huddlestone showed in that game that he could cover as an emergency CB. The club obviously hasn't the money to spend on new players so has had to sell a player that can command a good fee to bring in another couple. I just hope this was explained to MS when he was offered the job.
Ehab finally seems to have grasped the nettle and is going along with what MS feels needs to be done but why did he not see that in July players needed to come in?
Jake leaving could be the making of Tom. It will give him more game time and he could flourish in making that position entirety his own. As for having only the three centre backs, isn't Junior fit now?
Might be worth a punt on Harry in midfield, he can pass, drive us forward, tackle, dribble and has a good engine and just might pop up with the odd goal now and again.
As Jake and Tom have played together in most games, it's not likely to increase his game time and junior's still out for another month.
cos in the summer we didnt have a great manager that had identified the players that we needed to push on as a PL club.. it was almost like we were planning for relegation.
Id Rather he didn't leave , but it depends on what happens in the next few days in terms of reinvestment which will determine whether I'm really angry or just a bit miffed , I think Marco will sort it
Well silva obviously thought jake was not part of his plans so he probably said let him go and we can bring the type of players i need the 2 we need to buy and the loan. He obviously wants to make his task easier and doing this he maybe thinks will make it easier.
Jake and Tom were an unsuccessful partnership in midfield. Mason is a far better footballer than Jake. Livermore ran around a lot and put a lot of effort in but never really improved. We got relegated with him before and he is obviously going to fetch more than meyler etc.
Aston Villa are set to sign midfielder Henri Lansbury from Nottingham Forest for a fee worth in the region of £3m. If we nicked this deal the £10m wouldn't look so bad.
