You've gone and done it now That's like telling someone not to hit the golf ball into the water...it'll be subconsciously there now Someone's going to let it slip out now
“I wanted to look long-term and take a fresh approach – and have someone with us for the longer term. Have a good stint, three or four years.” When Silva first emerged as the surprise candidate to replace Phelan, sources in Portugal indicated City had offered an 18-month deal with a break-clause inserted should the club be relegated in May. By the time the 39-year-old had been appointed, however, this had morphed into a deal until the end of this season. “I can’t give you details of an employee’s contract,” said Allam in response to being asked about the terms of Silva’s deal. “But, as you know, I always think long-term. I am not someone who only looks five months ahead." Very odd thing to say... what does anyone else make of it?
It's a waste of time whilst you're on board when you publicly post the comments you do. That's not me having a pop that's just a fact.
There's not a lot you can make of it. He sounds like he wants MS to stay long term, but there's a reason it's only a 6 months contract. That could be either parties insistence, and it could be for any reason. None of us will ever know.
I assume by comments you mean the sheer stubbornness and one sided assault in every post ? I agree entirely as he needs to step up and be objective , not aggressive ... If he cant then step down as now is a good time to try and talk
For a coach who's been at the helm of big teams in their own countries and been at the top of these leagues, it's hard to see Silva staying on in the Championship if we were relegated. Anyway football is results based - if he keeps us up he'll be labelled a Messiah and bigger clubs will come sniffing, if he fails he walks.. So in the first case, he'll re-negotiate his contract (perhaps with new owners) and in the second he goes elsewhere He's got nothing to lose...
It doesn't have to be me or even the Trust. If he spoke to anyone that'd be a great start. And I haven't said anything undeserved about him or his dad. Like everyone I liked them when we didn't know of any reason not to. But now they've shown their true colours clearly enough over a period of several years. Every word that's been spoken against them has been thoroughly deserved. They've got off incredibly lightly if anything.
Don't expect any objectiveness or willing to change from him. No doubt he'll just justify his stance. Like he did in the other unmentionable incident. Complete waste of time. But its not his fault, its the Allams. Curse their stubbornness and unwillingness to back down or change their stance.
I'm not saying your comments and stance is right or wrong (although a lot of it is conjecture) merely that it makes it difficult to move forward. Like it or not your personal opinions and comments will reflect on the trust due to the position you hold. Who else is there to attempt at reconciliation if not the trust? It's the only avenue. It's irrelevant anyway as I don't think Ehab has any intention of reconciling.
