Have Great Christmas All .....and a Fab New Year .While most have Boxing day , it's a tradition of mine to have " Brownie and Beer Day " ....Far Out and Bottoms up ....Cheers
Beef bourguignon in the oven, ready in 3 hours. Lampoon's on in about 30 mins. Had a rum and coke and a beer earlier, more beer to follow. Think we're all sorted now though 3 kids and Christmas=stress.
We're getting ready to cook the goose. Oh, by the way, here's something that is going to have Stan (aka Lightning) and Tobes in absolute bits - it's the invoice for the meat we bought at a local butcher. I got my weights mixed up: the free range chicken is 6lbs, but the goose is 12lbs. I also got the price slightly wrong: £58 and not £45. Lightning crucified me for that, and used it to suggest that I was making it all up. Well, Lightning, there'll be no sleep for you, now, knowing that you massively ****ed up that particular wum. No doubt Pixie will be hard on your case, as he is a stickler for that kind of thing. Anyway, enjoy your Christmas lunches tomorrow, lads.
Merry Christmas, cool Yule and Peas and Love to all on on here. Hope you all have a wonderful time with your families and here's to a happy and successful 2017
Congratulations for admitting and providing evidence that you ****ed up HIAG Stan knew that he was right.
We have turkey (no chips) every Xmas Eve. Last several years we have done our main meal Xmas Eve. That way the Mrs can join in Xmas and it's a whole lot less stress all around. We usually have a good breakfast Xmas morn after presents are unwrapped and dinner is leftovers.
Sounds fine that way. But to have Turkey then main turkey meal again following day? Anyway, moot point as it goes. We ended up at comfortably the worst pub in a five mile radius and endured a predictably utterly ****e meal. The food was gash but it's Christmas eve and all part of the experience so it matters not. Got a glass of red in hand and the kids are full of excitement so it's good. Happy Christmas to you all!
Had a nap this afternoon. Slept for too long. Ruined the festive beers as was still somewhat grumpy. Just got back after a swift 4 pints of Oxford gold, now having a tapas night drinking red wine, got massive prawns, small prawns, scallops with black pudding and pea purée and a baked Camembert whilst listening to Richard Ashcroft who I've bought tickets to go see for the mrs's Christmas present.
