I seem to have dodged being dragged out delivering cards and presents by cracking on with food prep and wrapping, Mrs luv seems to think I deserve a rest. I love it when a plan comes together. So instead of being nice to people I don't care about I'm cracking open a Brew Dog IPA.
Just got home. All chores and deliveries done. Just walked into the kitchen and sliced off some Serrano. Really is a joy have a hooved leg of pig in the kitchen. Can't decide whether to start drinking or wait and go for a couple in the boozer later. Got king scallops and prawns for dinner later.
I'm waiting. Have a couple in the local bar. Off to the favourite Indian for an Xmas eve Ruby. Home, movie, coffee, brandy..... Then if the lady is up for it....
Stan: can you come round at 4pm? Folks: we need to go to the supermarket, we'll be there at 4.30pm. They won't arrive til 5pm earliest, nailed on.
I'm near Alicante, yes.. It was cumulative. As it rained for about 4-5 days. Some if it was very heavy rain...
Seen some photos on costa Blanca news on Facebook. Some of the flooding looks mental. The village where my family live jalon narrowly avoided being flooded, never seen a drop of water in let alone the torrent that it is. Got a friend in mojacar he said some villages were evacuated due to landslides. Love Spain at Christmas as they manage to string it out as they have the three kings or something like that isn't it?
I know the Jalon Valley. It's not that far away. Mojacar I know well too. We used to have a place on one of the golf courses near there. Tonight is the big family get together and meal here. Tomorrow is more for the religious minded. It tends to be very quiet. Reyes, or Epiphany, is the 6th of Jan. It's when the presents get dished out, especially for the kids.
I've been going there for 13 years. Folks lived in alcalali, sister lives in orba. Her business is in jalon.
Chill out Stan...who gives a ****? When they come its too soon for you and when they don't come on time you moanin too fam. Cut them some slack, you listen to Mrs Stan too much. Lol
Never ceases to amaze me the way people get two or three large trolleys full of **** and the regulatory 20 loaves of bread, 50 pints of milk etc just in case Sainsbury's don't open on Boxing Day!
Showered and shaved, beard trimmed and oiled. Knackers and arse clean as a whistle. Couple of ales in, watching the Ryder Cup, while she finally winds down from the annual manic cleaning spree. All good. Turkey to enter the oven; T minus 2.5 hours.
