The extention of contract gives ehaw more muscle in negotiating a sell on fee. It's his intention to sell I.m.o but as usual he will cock it up
You sort of have a point here. The official definition of turncoat is 'a person who deserts one party or cause in order to join an opposing one'. If Snodgrass leaves to join another club then he is by definition a turncoat. What people are probably taking exception to is the negative connotations that come with the word turncoat, whilst in the truest sense of the word the definition fits, we do not blame Snodgrass for wanting out of this sinking ship and so wouldn't choose to use that word which has additional negative connotations which don't apply here.
He hasn't gone anywhere yet, in fact, he's about to have his contract extended to eighteen months. He always gives his all on the pitch, I think what people were taking exception to, was Patty being a ****ing dipshit.
We all know his contract is being extended so we get more money for him, not because he wants to stay here. Oh I agree, Patty was trying to just trying to wind people up, I was just pointing out that the word he used is by definition correct, albeit not one most of us would choose to use.
To be fair to Snoddy it's bad enough watching it imagining playing for the club. I know everyone will say he is paid a fortune, which he is but, why stay here when clubs will pay more and your not in the middle of a sh1t storm.
Presumably that small fortune he is earning is very likely to be cut in half when we're relegated at the end of the season. He's 29, he doesn't have many years left at this level, in about 5 years time his playing career is over and his earning power plummets. He'd be an idiot not to go where the money is, no one here would blame him for going.
