I think it may actually be a 3 litre bag in a box Country Manor with his prawn cocktail.

Blue Nun's actually got a bit trendy recently, it's now a completely different wine to the sweet **** they used to make in the 70's/80's.

Yeah, my mum lived to be 80, and I still feel robbed. To be fair Christmas day does get much easier, the first few were difficult. Still see her though getting slowly drunk with either a glass of Cointreau or a Snowball which she'd treat herself to for xmas..... And the presents...all kids and grandkids (about 15 in total) had to have exactly £20 each, not a penny more or less. It was that amount from when I can remember, did try to explain about cost of living rises, but she was adamant.
We had this 10 day vigil because dad insisted on been there, so someone from the family were there at all times. Probably more for him, although the care was that poor (HRI at Christmas) I couldn't have left her. They gave us a room to sleep in. Someone was by her bed all the time, until Christmas day when we decided we needed to have a couple of hours off to enjoy a Christmas dinner. No sooner had we got home, we received a call saying she'd died. Was ironic, we felt compelled to stay by her side and be there and yet she didn't want us to see her go. My dad never forgave himself for not been there.

Anyway sorry chaps, suppose to be an uplifting thread!!

Bloody hell lads I'm on the gin an all.
No need to apologise though. Christmas is when we remember loved ones.

Gin mare too. Nice not great but very nice.

Yeah I've had a few bottles of Old Speckled Hen. It was a present from a potential son in law (he gains some credits there) but he didn't say I couldn't open them.
I'm still at work 'til Friday, so going steady. My Christmas always starts proper with the Christmas Eve afternoon piss up with Den and his clan. Will be a bit odd this year sat outside at Allham Common, but sure we'll be fine. We could do to borrow a few of the banners from the other thread, spoil his xmas.

Mushy or more recently both but only at Christmas. Sunday dinner I wouldn't think of having mushy.

Drinking County Manor in a box at Christmas was the first time I got pissed. Was about 7 and just kept helping myself out the fridge and spent the remainder of the day asleep knelt infront of the fire

Not specifically Christmas related as such, but I genuinely feel that The Phil Silvers Show should be on the box over the period.

To be watched on a very small screen surrounded by an enormous wooden cabinet.

    Elf on the shelf.

    Just don't.

21 nights of having to find different mischievous things for the 'Elf' to have done in the night is taking the piss.

Hope he/she wasn't watching/listening. At your age, you should know better. And keep your voice down ... Quilly and Spooky might be listening ... plus many millions of other precious little snowflakes. I'd already got two children before I realized it was actually my job. Saved a few quid though. We've made up for it since.
