    Arf.

Did Bowen get a new contract sorted and signed a month or so ago? Yes or no?
Did Tom and Elmo renew their contracts in the summer? Yes or no?

If Snodgrass has firm interest from another club we're powerless to stop him if they offer ridiculous money and length of contract.

    Gods sake Chazz.

Anytime anyone leaves the club, we HAVE to bitch about it and blame the Allams for their part in it.

Other clubs don't lose players or staff ffs.

Well remember the Allams wanted to change the name and said other clubs would think this was such a brilliant idea they would follow.
Next he brought in the Membership Scheme - again it is Ehab's brilliant business idea and Hull City are leading the way etc etc
No he will not pay more than a certain amount in wages. Again I believe he is trying to do business the unique Allam way.

I can see where he is coming from in some ways cos lets face it the wages for footballers is crazy but in Ehab's head he is making a stand and of course other clubs will follow ! I do think it is a shame if Snodgrass goes because as a supporter you would like to see some loyalty to the supporters at least. Oh well I think we all just dread the next few months,

If Snodgrass, Livermore, Dawson and Robertson had their contracts renewed a year ago like every other club does when a player enters the last 18 months of a contract, we wouldn't be in the position where we risk losing them for free in 6 months time.

Of course, this is the players fault though and nothing to do with magnificent owner.

The fact is that if Snodgrass stays he is likely to be down to Championship level wages, if what we are lead to believe is true and they all have clauses to reduce their salaries if we go down. If it is true and he wants away to Celtic then probably there wouldn't be too much difference in wages.

His contract runs out at the end of this season, yet until he went public at the end of November, he'd not had any discussion with the club about getting a new one.

That's piss-poor, whatever way you look it and there's only one person at the club responsible for players deals.

Now I could accept the Allams lack of experience in football matters when they first bought the club in 2010.

But they've been owners now for over 6 years and they still struggle to grab the basics.

Or maybe they believe the players should play for free, for as we all know, football should be free like the air we breathe...

I notice nobody ever mentions Mo Diame when extolling Ehab's expertise in the negotiating department. When a player chooses to drop a division rather than sign a new deal, you know something is seriously stinking.

I'm certain no one has ever, even on here, extolled Ehabs expertise in anything, let alone negotiations.

I'll send a version of Football Manager to Mr Allam for Xmas.

Seriously though when Bruce was here did he used to go up to Assam and say I think we better get such and such signed up?

I understand your point you are trying to make but you must ask why did no premier club offer him a deal?

You're a clever bloke surely you arent this stupid? Newcastle could blow us out of the water and did.
Except it doesnt run out we have another year option. Snodgrass and his agent are pushing this as he wants more money. More than we can afford i imagine. I doubt he will be willing to take a pay cut if we're relegated. Astute? Or a bit of a ****?

Do you understand were a club in 80 million worth of debt? Do you know what that debt is? Its greedy ****ing players wages. Nothing more nothing less.
So you would extend a 33 year old who will be 34 in November. How long would you give him? A 3 year deal, a 4 year deal. Dawson wouldnt sign one and we'd be daft to give him a deal at his age and with his injjuries and without knowing what division we are in.
Do we have the option of another year with those other players?
Will they sign with a relegation clause in them? Or refuse to sign and be a free agent?

Players have all the power. If Snodgrass has publicly refused a new deal he's advertising the fact he's available to see what he can get elsewhere. We cant compete with the clubs who can offer him more.

We both know there's no loyalty in football Chazz - Snodgrass is 29, the age where he has one last good contract in him. He's not getting that contract with us when/if we're relegated; he'll get a decent contract with a newly promoted or established mid-table PL club, or perhaps a semi-decent but longer contract up at Celtic. He's been a decent larker for us but he's never gonna be a legend - he helped us get promotion back to the PL, I thank him for that but, if he doesn't want to be here, he's no great loss.
