Do you think you'll be promoted back to league 1 this season, and do take 6 points from the gas please
Yep was a fair few years back I was up there but we had a good crack in the pubs before hand. London might not be such a good day out at the moment!!!! It always amazes me how these rioters feel the best way to express their dispeasure is to break into a store and steal things, very political of them.
The "rioters" are looting places like JD sports and footlocker. It ain't political for ****! Got any rattler landlady?
It may be a political protest against sporting goods? Or perhaps there was an Exeter City shirt in the window then all violence was fully justifiable IMHO
It would seem it's past sensible's bedtime so I guess I'll close up now everyone is drifting away. Drink up guys and goodnight
The old Den in the 1960's...........when the docks were still open...........a slightly different type of supporter in those days.........stevedores coming straight from the docks at the end of their shift.......via the pub of course..........you didn't wear green on those terraces if you wanted to have a quiet day out................ I can remember the team coach one January evening going back to Plymouth with no windows.......slightly cold I'd wager.
There are no snakes in the cellar other than a mattress mamba which is quite docile these days. Only raises itself if tickled behind it's head. Match tonight never in doubt in my opinion. There won't be any problems as half the shops have already closed in the City Centre and there is no stock in there. I hope there will be a reasonable turn out tonight. We often don't get many for a first round match but this time we are playing a club two leagues higher than us rather than somebody below.
Too much information Sensible!!! Just heard from my mate who lives by Home Park that the riots have spread there too. Apparently looters broke in and left some shirts, shorts, socks, boots, balls and a loaf of bread for toast after training.
They were quite safe as nobody can shoot at Home Park. Sadly that is the same in other parts of the country as well. If this was a different country then they would be shooting looters so maybe johnny foreigner doesn't always get things wrong.
Morning all....Sensible was working overtime this morning so kindly made me an early English breakfast...I think after midnight your in for double time Mate. Suppose the team showed a little spirit according to sporting life text commentary but should have tried a few more shots on goal....gate reasonable too. Well off to Malta tonight for a month....moving into my new apt....can't wait, a whole mth. partying. I believe Argyle are at The Gills sometime then...or any other teams near a UK airport?...if have time maybe try to catch a game. Ah well finish off packing & get ready for work.
Lots to be happy about last night Argyle wise and a little to be not so happy about. First thing to say is that they played the ball on the floor all night and passed and passed it. Even towards the end of the game they stuck to this and for a very young side did not panick. The down side was that they didn't have that many attempts on goal and maybe sometimes passed a little too much. But, for spectacle purposes it looked very good even if the result wasn't. It was hard to tell at times who the older players were on both sides and who the novices were. I'm still struggling with the names of the Argyle squad a tad. Players who did well were No. 20 and No.3. The defence was solid throughout with all of them doing quite well. Keeper a little stranded at times and will have to improve some decision making if he is to make his mark. Decent shot stopper on the plus side. No. 7 infuriated me a number of times by not making runs and tending to drop back towards midfield when he should have been running into space. He is young so he will learn. Forwards a little ineffective but the chances were not there so it was hard to tell. They didn't give up. Later on in match No.18 came on who I believe is another very young player. He was well up for his chance. Constantly wanted the ball, laid it off and linked up well with others in midfield. Put in the tackles when needed and plenty of energy. If he developes this one is one to watch in my opinion. Crowd better than expected and about right from Millwall for a Tuesday night. No trouble and only saw one police all night. This side if it continues to play this way will beat plenty of teams in this league. Needs an experienced head up front and perhaps in midfield. Fletcher was not there so perhaps with him in there that would be enough. All in all there were no complaints apart from a fussy Ref who got his card out a little too quickly.
