its almost as if you are suddenly surprised that the standard of refereeing throughout the world game is not top notch!

i thought it was a typical refereeing display, the kind i've seen for years and years, where they are generally pretty sound for 89 minutes of the game but then go mad and make an odd decision. perhaps its because in the premier league fans are used to the big teams seemingly getting key decisions go their way every time. you boys wouldn't know about that though... ;)

The referee was heard saying after the game that he is looking forward to refereeing Brazil's 3-0 win against Mexico!

It was poor but it was also so blatantly biased! That's the thing that shocks me!

apart from the penalty though, i'm really struggling to remember anything dodgy - he certainly showed no signs whatsoever of being 'biased'. incompetent at times, maybe. the red card was 50/50 at best. the disallowed goal, likewise. that's not bias. indeed, i noticed in the first half he gave croatia two wrong throw ins. obviously not quite as important as a penalty but it seems you only saw what you wanted to see

Well that's sorted that! JWM's claim to be a qualified referee is absolute BULLSHIT

Thats the mark of a good bit of match fixing, give a couple of dodgy throw ins then a big decision comes along and you **** that up.

Because his post was immediately after mine and was directly contradicting without offering any form of explanation or analysis. We know exactly what Guru's like so his "oh, but I wasn't responding to Rob" is just plain disingenuous. I was happy to have a reasoned discussion, but as usual Guru comes in to WUM and spoil for a fight then play the victim when someone responds and, frankly, you've fallen for it. No criticism of you, it's a simple tactic that Guru has done since he started posting on here - he posts something contradictory without any thought or analysis and then waits for people to react and then he feigns deep hurt. It works because people then leap to his "oh so innocent" defence.

And there's nothing wrong with my post - I did deal with all his points. And he is a time waster. Take a look at how far this thread has come since he joined...

They are not called rules dear boy, they are called "Laws" and perhaps you could do with learning them!

If he's a time waster and a WUM (which I agree to an extent, sometimes it has seemed he is), why do you feel the need to call him on it EVERY. SINGLE. TIME? Is that not the definition of 'falling for' the WUMing?

Unless you're WUMing, and I'm WUMing, and we all have agendas, and we're all trolling each other....

I don't call him out every time. When was the last time I called him out? I appreciate that we've had our history, so I've given up with him unless he responds to me (otherwise I would never stop posting here). And to pretend he didn't respond to me on this thread is, as I said, disingenuous.

If someone is going to be twattish when I offer my opinion, I'm afraid I reserve the right to respond. Sorry if you don't like it JK, but you're welcome to put me on ignore or simply not read it. Don't overlook your own part in this - it was your inflammatory post that really got Guru into his stride, because then he knows that he's managed to find someone sympathetic to his "oh so innocent" victim card.

IMO, falling for a wum is getting wound up by them without realising that they are just doing it to stir you. So pointing out someone is wumming, isn't really rising to it. But it doesn't matter whether I rise to it or not, Guru will wum and wum and wum. The only way of dealing with him is to call him out for not offering any form of analysis or input as I did there. Let him get all flustered and "woe is me" and then move on. The problem I have with him is that, irrespective of whether it's me who responds (I appreciate that this is your gripe, that it is me) or anyone else, he consistently ruins the thread. This was a good interesting thread and now it might as well be canned because people have to wade through three pages of JWM/Guru drivel.

so basically you don't like anybody disagreeing with you, and i did give reasoning when i said about neymar's look and JC moving towards the croat.so your argument crashes down there fella.

this thread was back on track until you reared your head again in the bid to stir trouble (yes i know im not an angel, just innocent on all charges here im afraid)

    well done. <applause>
