May nip along on the Friday possibly. £15 is not bad to see a lot of current F1 cars. Although Silverstone testing always used to be free entry back in the day, you never used to know how many teams would actually turn up for any given session!
 
Think this tyre test is really unfair to mercedes. Now you punish them but not allowing them in the young drivers tests then you allow the other teams to do what they were punished for...how could that be fair? It's like sending a man to serve time in prison for manslaughter (punishment no.1) Then you let the victim's family cut off the prisoner's hands and legs to make sure he is no more of a threat again. If the other teams are going to test on safety grounds then surely mercedes should also do the same or that will be a mockery of safety and am excuse to get a good setup for the new tyres for the other teams. Why is Horner protesting so much? Why does he want a pound of flesh for a pound of flesh and limbs? Is Horner afraid that if mercedes get on top of their tyre problems that they red bull will be in trouble for the rest of the season? Why is he objecting so much? Mercedes were specifically banned from the young drivers tests but that ban never said anything about any tyre testing so in my opinion they weren't banned from these new tyre tests. What if mercedes tyres blew off and killed another driver or one of their own in practice 1 for the next race? I think the FIA would have a lot of questions to answer. Vettel is head of the drivers group right? I wonder how he would react if an accident like that happens? Remember he also wears the Red Bull hat too.
 
Not sure on that mate, they will have been brought into line when the others have tested. The only difference will be the 1/3 legal fees for technically breaking the testing rules. I don't see I as unfair, more like Karma.

He's Jan's son. So if McLaren actually wanted to try young drivers, both Magnusson's would have driven a McLaren.

Not every day a father and son drive for the same team, at different points in history.

I can only think of the Rosberg's (Williams).

Yes in line with the tyre tests but what about the young drivers test.....it's like a pound of flesh for a pound of flesh and a few other parts isn't it?

Mercedes got off lucky as far as I'm concerned, they knew what they were doing was illegal at the time, so what if now all the teams are going to get to test, at the time they did it they weren't allowed and they knew it, Brawn must be kicking himself that his slyness has back-fired for a change
 
Why didn't Pirelli agree with the FIA that the YDT would be a tyre test in the first place. Its perfect for Pirelli to access the tyres for the coming year with no impact on the current season.
 
Sauber reveals Silverstone Formula 1 test line-up

Nico Hulkenberg will line up alongside Robin Frijns and Kimiya Sato for Sauber in Formula 1's Silverstone young driver test next week.

With race drivers allowed to participate in order to work on Pirelli's new tyres, Sauber has elected to run the German in the afternoon of the second day.

He will take over from reigning Formula Renault 3.5 champion and Sauber reserve driver Frijns, who will be charged with driving duties for the first day and a half.

Sato meanwhile will make his F1 debut on the third and final day.

The 23-year-old Japanese driver currently leads this year's Auto GP championship, having won three times in the opening eight races.

Last week:
Correspondent Roger Benoit said at least some income is guaranteed to flow Sauber's way, having inked a deal for the upcoming Silverstone test with Japanese driver Kimiya Sato.

Benoit said the sponsors of 23-year-old Sato, who is not related to former F1 driver Takuma Sato, are paying EUR 250,000 for his single-day run in the C32 car.
