Thanks for the report Col. I enjoyed the read.

The only player who upset me was Cesar.

I thought he should have saved the free kick. He was too far over to his right. He was very weak in organising his wall too. I don't think it was a brilliant free kick.

I really want Rob Green in goal now for the rest of the season.

Very few of our players ever upset me but Cesar was awful yesterday. His whole attitude is "couldn't give a damn, I'm outta here soon".

This. Well said Fingy.

But my pity at the unfortunate (if unsurprising) reversal of fortunes yesterday was for our Flanman, who thanks to Stainesy I had the pleasure of sitting next to. At half time he shared with me a very personal sadness that made for a terrible past year for him.

Really sorry to hear that, all the best Flanman.

Nicely written post Col. Well paced and I could feel the excitement build as you described the goal, It was like I was reading an action thriller. I don't think I'd do myself an injustice if I said that, that is probably the best goal I've seen at LR. ( I've seen quite a few too. Shame it was at the wrong end. I hate it when we attack the loft first half. ) To hit a shot like that with that technique first time after running 80 yards, tired after playing with ten men for most of it and putting that amount of pace into the shot into the far corner, deserved to win any game.

I can't even go into the closing stages of the match. I still feel sick even thinking about it. It will pervade me throughout the coming summer. I feel sorry for your lad. He must be experiencing a similar feeling to ours that we felt as kids on May 4th 1976.

Agreed mate. I said the same in the pub before the game. I also said the same regarding Zamora.

As usual Col bang on the money I must admit didn't know that Adel ducked until MOTD and also thought BZ challenge was not that bad from the angle we were looking at.

Thanks for your sentiments Brix much appreciated I am already looking forward to meeting with you and the gang sometime in the not to distant future.

Great to meet you mate.
Really sorry that you've had some tough times. I hope things steadily improve and I look forward to meeting you again. A thoroughly nice guy!!

Yeah, you're right.
He's ok though mate, in fact he's been picking me up, saying that we'll rebuild and get straight back up.
He's actually had some really good times with QPR so far. He's seen us lift the Championship trophy and witnessed some terrific times at LR already.

He's now seeing the other, more common aspect of supporting the Rs.

Cesar - 6 - Doesn't look fit to me and his kicking is awful. Possibly could have done better for the free kick. I'd prefer Green.
Bosingwa - 7 - Got forward well and was good in possession. Still jogged back on one occasion until given the gee up by the crowd.
Hill - 7 - A huge, battling performance from Clint.
Samba - 4 - Another awful game. He looks anything but a 12 million pound defender. Terrible in possession, awful positioning and never looked the kind of threat at the other end that we saw last season.
Traore - 5 - Didn't do much first half and then went off injured. He must be made of glass!!
Townsend - 8 - Man of the match. Easily the best player on the pitch.
Jenas - 7 - Good in possession and made some timely interceptions. Looks classy at times.
Mbia - 6 - Would have got at least a 7, but that last gasp foul was so stupid....plus he is so embarrassing with all that diving.
Hoilett - 4 - A shadow of the player we thought we'd signed. Did very little until taken off.
Zamora - 2 - What an idiot!! (At least we won't have to watch his cart-horse impressions for the next 3 games!!)
Remy - 8 - This guy is pure goal scoring class. There's no way we would be where we are if he and Harry had been with us all season. What a goal!!
Subs:
Taarabt - 5 - Looked to get on the ball and be creative, but that chicken out in the wall will haunt him.
Onuoha - 7 - Steady, strong and looked a far better defender than Samba!
Maqckie - 5 - Only on for a few minutes, but should have got that ball into the corner at the death!

Thoughts?
Spot on with those ratings Col!

Col
Thanks for another great report mate. Too gutted to say much. Still not the better of it. Typical QPR. We just seem to be cursed for the last few years. Our poor discipline is just unbelievable. Teams don't have to beat us anymore, we beat ourselves. Gutted.

Nuts speaks for me too, Col. Great report, on a team of own-foot shooters

Seems to be the story of the last 2 years. Spot on Nuts

Exactly, we have to score great goals while the other teams can count on us giving them 1 or 2 goals a game without them doing anything. Effectively we give them a 1 or 2 goal headstart in every game and were not going to win many like that.

Exactly Flyer...We have to work so hard for our goals....many of our goals, like Sundays are special.....other teams seem to score easy goals against us (eg all the goals from corners at the start of the season)....even I knew that you set the ball to the far post and that it would cross back across the goal and then be headed in.
When will free flowing footy ending in easy simple well worked goals be back in fashion at LR.
I would love to go to a match where we win by 3 goals and the last 30 minutes are a bit boring because the match is over....in our favour I may add

Hmmm....maybe we should play with 10 men more often! We played so well & we looked like a cohesive unit from back to front for once. M'Bia by far had his best game this season but then ****ed it up with a stupid challenge which led to the goal!

We're not out of it yet if 1 or 2 results in other matches go our way & we win a couple. Miracles do happen, just look at last years game with City, we went 2 - 1 up with 10 men!!!!!!!

It ain't over 'till the fat lady sings & she ain't even warming up yet!!!

YOU R'sssssss

I admire the sentiments mate and I certainly haven't (quite) given up yet. However, I think you'll find that Adele is in the wings and doing her vocal exercises!!

Have you been away? You weren't there Sunday were you?

Yep, was away, Col. I'm having some building work done at the moment, and had to supervise the felling of a conifer called a Macrocarpa at short notice after the building inspector decided the roots could spread to the site. They are great beasts (the conifer not the building inspectors). Saw later parts of the match on Sky. Ugh! I should be at Stoke though.

See you there mate.

Must've been the most horrible atmosphere at the end of the game. I watched it at a bar in Coral Bay, Cyprus along with a fellow Rs supporter, they're everywhere, and we went from ecstasy to despair in nine minutes. Just a horrible empty feeling at the end that was an absolute sickener. As you say Col, I can't remember a more gutting moment. I have to say it's knocked the stuffing out of me and I really can't see us coming back from that...

No, me neither mate, but where there's hope.............
