I think Can is a squad player at best. He's too inconsistent to command a first team place for a team aspiring to be top 4.

I would agree but he continues to improve and I feel that if we dropped the poor Henderson and stuck with Can in that deeper role he'll turn into the player that he at times promises to be. That's just my opinion though, I wouldn't be gutted if we bought a DM.

Maybe he had already agreed to sign for Chelsea and was having second thoughts...either way bad timing for him because he fluffed his lines. Was world class at Milan

Like you say he'll likely be gone though so you'll probably need to sign another midfielder along with Keita.

I'm not sure what is going on there, he's keeping his options open and I think looking to see how we do this season. If a massive club comes in then he'll agree a deal in Jan if not I think he'll see if we get CL again and then sign or if no CL move as a free agent.
 
Looks like he had already decided to do the chip but was now having doubts after that penalty become so decisive.

No conviction whatsoever.

They still had a great team though, Pirlo, Nesta, Kaka, Seedorf, Gattuso......
