It is very sad and very desperate. My view is that sanctions will work - it is unfortunately a race between when the Russian people/Generals assassinate Putin and how long Ukraine can hold out. Im not entirely sure his generals will allow him to press the red button, unless Russia itself is threatened as that is the self defence card needed.
Putin needs to win this war quickly, such are the economic sanctions against Russia. Their foreign reserves have been cut by 90%. Their currency has been devalued by 60-70% against USD/GBP/JPY and so their buying power of anything military (including raw materials) has gone through the roof. Time is the friend and the enemy - hold on long enough and Mother Russia can't survive. Give in too quickly and Mother Russia claims Ukraine. React rashly and red button gets pressed in desperation.

FTM as well C****

If true , suggests he’s really getting desperate. Unfortunately, him being desperate is not good at all
He knows , and so do his Generals, that he can't press the red button unless the West give him a bona fide justifiable reason to do so. That includes the fear of nuclear attack from the US. With NATO sat on the sidelines he hasn't got that leverage. And anyway he is a Newcasselll supporter. C***

Yarmolenko celebrating his goal last night, if it meant so much to him why was he not back in Ukraine fighting for his country like the rest of the Ukrainian men
Or is it he would rather be over here being highly paid and safe from the conflict.

I was just starting to wonder if Putin is a mag. This persuades me that he is!
