So Shell insist on still buying fuel from Russia because they are getting such a good deal, well let’s hope it comes to bite them on the arse when motorists dump them.

Need to frack for gas unti we build more nuclear power stations and press on with wind, solar and hydroelectric electricity production.
In an uncertain world we must have energy security.

I am of the belief that the ONLY way that this will end will be when Putin is taken out. This guy is Hitler reincarnated and if history teaches us anything Putin should be in the crosshairs of someone's rifle...he is out of control and looking to escalate hostilities, and with nuclear weapons can the west or the Russians leave this guy in charge?

If Putin is taken out ( i believe he will be ) it will be from within i think.

never thought this would go to war as i was convinced it was a lot of 'sabre rattling' and after a few talks all sides would gain a little something but right now, putin has been given a very bloody nose by a supposed inferior and weaker country and to me that spells danger as he will not want to be seen to lose face here.

whatever the cost, he is going to have to push hard on this war and if possible bring NATO into it so he can claim he was 'bullied' into calling it off, the danger of course is we have china, north korea and a couple of others who could be happy to ally with russia...this could still go either way.

I think the Russian young will get him out. He thinks he's dealing with the old Soviet citizens. The young have got used to a life with MacDonalds, Nokia, Ikea , M&s, western cars, fashion, world connection with media and internet etc etc. They'll realise that isolation will lose all this and they'll be queuing all day for bread again in a country with nothing, with a lifestyle with nothing,

Interesting to see that, only a couple of days after HMS Prince of Wales sailed for the bi-annual NATO exercises north of Norway, HMS Queen Elizabeth is sailing at 4pm to go out to do some training.

My bet is that she ends up in the Baltic near Poland or Estonia
