    We've found the plane! US!

The revelation that flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean is based on new analysis by UK investigators and the British satellite firm Inmarsat, Malaysia's prime minister has said.

Najib Razak said relatives of the flight's 239 passengers and crew had been told of the "heartbreaking" news.

Inmarsat used new techniques to find the plane's last position, he said.

The UK's Air Accidents Investigation Branch, which probes serious civil aircraft incidents, was also involved.

The announcement came as the international search effort reached a fifth day of operations in the southern Indian Ocean.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 went missing after taking off from Kuala Lumpur on 8 March.

    New way of modelling
Inmarsat has told the BBC it gave the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) the new data on Sunday - adding it needed to be checked before it was made public.

The firm said its latest calculation involved a large amount of data analysis, focusing on a number of factors including the movements of other aircraft.

It involved an entirely new way of modelling which is why the analysis took some time, the firm added.

Mr Razak told a news conference in Kuala Lumpur that works by the AAIB and Inmarsat revealed that MH370's last position was in the ocean west of Perth, Australia.

He said: "This is a remote location, far from any possible landing sites. It is therefore with deep sadness and regret that I must inform you that - according to this new data - flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean."

Speaking of the families of passengers and crew, he added: "For them, the past few weeks have been heartbreaking. I know this news must be harder still."

Mr Razak said a news conference would be held on Tuesday with further details.

Malaysia's prime minister has announced that missing flight MH370 crashed in the southern Indian Ocean.

Najib Razak said this was the conclusion of fresh analysis of satellite data tracking the flight.

Malaysia Airlines had told the families of the 239 people on board, he said.

Earlier the BBC saw a text message sent to families by the airline saying it had to be assumed "beyond reasonable doubt" that the plane was lost and there were no survivors.

Flight MH370 disappeared after taking off on 8 March from Kuala Lumpur.

The announcement by PM Najib Razak, at a late-night news conference, came on the fifth day of an international search effort in the southern Indian Ocean.

Based on new analysis, the UK's Air Accidents Investigation Branch and Inmarsat, the UK company that provided satellite data, "have concluded that MH370 flew along the southern corridor, and that its last position was in the middle of the Indian Ocean, west of Perth," Mr Razak said.

"This is a remote location, far from any possible landing sites. It is therefore with deep sadness and regret that I must inform you that, according to this new data, flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean."

Mr Razak appealed to the media to respect the privacy of the families of the passengers and crew, saying the wait for information had been heartbreaking and this latest news harder still.

The text message sent to families by Malaysia Airlines announcing the loss of the plane said: "Malaysia Airlines deeply regrets that we have to assume beyond any reasonable doubt that MH370 has been lost and that none of those on board survived... we must now accept all evidence suggests the plane went down in the Southern Indian Ocean."

I've worked with the inmarsat boys and their kit in the past, special breed of geeks them boys but they get the job done no questions asked.

I can't help but think some poor sod is sat on a tiny island that small that nobody would ever go there, looking at a washed up volleyball thinking "For **** sake".

    Conspiracy theory - not mine

Days after flight MH370 goes missing, a patent is approved. 4 of the 5 patent holders are Chinese employees of Freescale Semiconductor of Austin TX. The fifth is the company itself.

Who owns Freescale Semiconductor? Answer: Jacob Rothschild! He owns it through Blackstone who themselves own Freescale.

Here's a motive for the missing Beijing plane - all 4 Chinese Patent members were passengers on the missing plane. Patent holders can alter the proceeds legally by passing wealth to their heirs. However, they can only do that when the patent is approved. This is just another rule contrived by con-minded and criminals. It simply enables evil-minded scum the opportunity to commit skulduggery. So when the plane went missing, the patent had not been approved. As soon as the plane went missing, in other words 'operation successful' the patent is approved and thank you very much! Rothschild once again gets the lot - 100% patent holder. That is... once the other 4 Patent holders are declared deceased. Blatant as you like.

HOLD THE F*** ON!!! British Satellite companies are the ones responsible for calculating the weather... That means the plane is probably safe and sound somewhere <laugh>

Honestly, I don't see where the evidence is for the Malaysian government to come out and say "they're all dead, the plane definitely crashed there". Some company says, days after everyone has already been looking at the Indian Ocean, that it went down in the Indian Ocean, and yet the proof is not made public = fishy.

We've seen grainy, blurry crap in the guise of satellite imagery, which no way looked like aeroplane parts, and all of a sudden everyone started looking there as if it were fact. I see the Telegraph reporting that is was a suicide mission by the pilot... EH, no, otherwise he could have crashed the plane ANYWHERE. Why would anybody go, yeah. let's fly towards China, cut across Malaysia, then head down towards Australia?!

I think people are spouting a lot of bullshit about this whole incident, and the News are loving it. F*** all info, but they make 5 headlines about it every day.

Science could 'rewind' waves to find Malaysia jet black boxes:
    from Reuters
scientists have developed computer models to "play back" the waves and winds, allowing rescue workers to retrace the movements of debris to the site of a crash.

"There are sophisticated models that allow you to work backwards from the current position of each piece of debris, after considering the currents and the winds," said Gallo.

"That enables you to say X marks the spot on the surface."
