meanwhile, middlesbro 0-4 doncaster, which is the first time doncaster have beaten middlesbro by 4+ goals and only the second time they've scored 4 against them.

Classic how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory from City. At 3-1 we were absolutely coasting it, really coasting, playing some silky passing football. But as someone has said more than once, 'its a funny old game'. City were excellent tonight, except for 90 seconds right near the end. So for me it's a night of positives, we looked solid ( apart from that 90 second spell) at the back and potent up front. Loads of good stuff to take from tonight, apart from the final result. We ran Wrexham ragged and lost.
Unbelievable Jeff.

Pros:
- Some of the best football I’ve seen City play in ages
- We looked ruthless creating and taking chances

Cons:
- Complacency cost us; showboating at 1-3 up is just silly
- Phillips might be a worse shot-stopper than Allsop
Add... away support absolutely immense... kudos..

I don't think he's particularly good, but I wouldn't say Phillips was at fault for either goal, Hughes and Famewo both out jumped, neither were keepers to come and claim for me. Did ask during pen shootout if he had holes in his gloves tho....
Their equaliser went through his legs, which you'd think he shpuld be saving. Ndala lost the ball, and unfortunately Giles had bombed up with him, leaving the space. We probably should've used some brain power at 3-2 and not had a defender doing that

He looked National League level to me

A lot of people who couldn’t give a **** about the competition having meltdowns because we are out of it. Others too tight to pay to watch it moaning despite having great entertainment for zilch.

Frustrating result in the end but thought we played some lovely stuff tonight. Fair play to Wrexham for taking advantage of some sloppy late defending but tonight really gave some players a chance to shine and most of them did to be honest. Keep playing football like that with important players still to return and we have the makings of a decent side again.

Roll on Sunday

worst place for it to go as a keeper sometimes, you get set feet just apart expecting it to go left or right and just can't react in time
