Yes please, just the type of striker we need to replace Carroll. i dont know whether we'd be able to get him (although as has been said cash+pl appeal could weigh in) and porto would probably charge way over the odds, so only at a good price.

ah, you mean those clubs that just bought strikers...
    I hear they're also interested in N'Zogbia.

Would most definitely take him without a shadow of a doubt, but would be reluctant to spend more than 15m on him I think. Which wouldn't be enough for us to capture him. Bigger teams will be after him, and we probably couldn't afford his wages.

I would most certainly get his name on the back of my shirt if he did come though.

    Costly :p
Since Shearer, I've just stuck with my own name. Never felt safe enough to get another players name on my shirt, just in case. Ha.

He looks like a great striker, the sort of player who likes to intimidate defenders. How old is he?

It did cost a few quid, seemingly you pay more for the numbers than the letters.

The kind of names going around this thread (Hulk/Lukaku/Neymar) are far too high profile for us to have a chance of signing imo. They've been known as top talents / potential talents for years and have the bigger, more attractive clubs circling.

Necid or Doumbia, both of CSKA Moscow seem more realistic. 2 young, talented strikers. Will cost £12-15m though, so doubt it will happen.

Either way, he would be a great signing for £15m. I bet Porto would be reluctant to sell him though so I could see them demanding £20m and I bet his wage demands would be very high too. Plus the added fact that he's used to European football, almost makes this a no go.

P.S. His goal to game ratio this season is higher than 1:1. It's about 1.1:1 (19 goals in 17 games one article stated).

Cal - I think that's a reference to me...I did say that they were too far out of reach for us, but someone of that ilk...15-20m for a teenager is a huge amount of money, granted THOSE particular teenagers won't come, but another will...It's a risk, but it's a risk I'd love us to take!
