That was partially flippant. There have certainly been cutbacks. They've been all over when it's me who's been in lumber, but whenever I've had a problem, they've been unable to do anything. Then again, I am a Scouser, so there is a general antipathy <ok>

So the police get attacked by 3 black thugs during a routine traffic stop and it has nothing to do with angry black violent criminals.

123 murders in the capital "nearly all" black or brown victims and perpetrators and this has nothing to do with black or brown people ?

This is somehow down to racist attitudes towards black and brown people ?


You haven't had a day off sick in 30 years but you are only on short term contracts ?

this thread has nothing to do with black crime ... it's about whether any of us, as private citizens, would step in to help our police force if they were being assaulted ... not specific to this particular incident but as a general principle ... FFS!!!! <doh> <doh> <doh>

When you watch programmes like 'The first 48 hours' and Murder shift based around real life stuff in Indianapolis and various other Cities in the US, you realise just how much black crime, ghetto **** there is. London has turned out like that, turf war ****, living on their arses bringing their version of Montego Bay here after many generations. I will always say it how it is, we have a lot of imported **** wandering our streets..<ok>

Sure do Joe ... but it's not all down to any particular race or nationality ...
 
Arming the police would be crazy, I've never known a single copper wanting to be armed yet. Barely any criminals have guns, they're very few and far between, we just aren't that sort of country. However, if the crims know that they're armed then guns will start becoming popular on the streets and that would be devastating, we'd end up like the yanks.

Would I help coppers getting chinned? Not sure there's a lot of factors come into play. If I'm with my bairn then I walk the other way, I'm not that much of a **** to put myself in a situation where my child can watch me die in the street. If they armed then I'm not getting involved with that either.

The percentages are saying otherwise, yes we will always have our new generation Krays, the North East mob, The Liverpool drug gangs but these ****heads are carrying knives, attacking each other from school and one thing I have known all my life is that if there's a knife involved then it will be foreign. We fight with our fists in this Country..<ok>

Back in the 70s and 80s the Everton lads were renowned for carrying blades - just saying ... but Albanians, Lithuanians and many other Eastern Europeans organised crime gangs are over here now so hence my comments about race ...

The blades were getting carried long before the Everton fans mate, Stanley, double bladed with a sticky plaster in the middle so it did a double cut, harder to stitch, been there and seen the ****ers wince when we got the blades off them. This black ghetto **** around East and South London has gone way beyond that, you carry anything longer than 4 inches then you are looking at killing someone, which they have and all for a rap song in their thick heads. You can never create a culture, respect and harmony if the residents don't give a ****, same in Birmingham too..

I see where you are coming from Joe but how accurate is the picture?

I think I will do a thread and bring in some stuff I learnt recently.

It's not just cutbacks from my experience with the police, but also policy changes

So for example the whole we respond quicker if in cars. This was largely down to not wanting to do the beat and the whole "wait till it's over" method of policing

The lack of visible officers has meant increase in crimes that don't always register in a big way

It’d be lovely wouldn’t it... How many chances are you gonna get in life to fill in one of these street rats with no repercussions? Assuming you don’t get nicked afterwards for helping <laugh>
