From the times i have seen VAR used, i reckon that is a rare occurence.
I know its not perfect but i feel more confidence in VAR and the use of it. I also think we will see the use of it get better over time, personally i am for it and despite some incorrect decisions I think it has improved the quality of refereeing standards.
As said so far in wc think it has been used really well
Answer in your post lol....So why was that not given then? Iceland defender didn’t get the ball and trod on his foot as he was about to cross.
Ref didnt even review it, clear pen.
Aye.... we make up a good segment of their gene pool lolSince the Irish aren't there it was nice to see a descendant of the diaspora get the equaliser for Iceland.

I don’t entirely disagree and it hasn’t actually slowed things down too badly. Just had 2 examples today now though where one was reviewed a minute after the play actually happened, what if there is a bad tackle in that period. Does the red card get given or because you go back to the pen, everything happening in that minute become void?
its just how and when it’s used and I’m sure over time it’ll get better. Just think that considering it’s mesnt to overturn clear and obvious decisions, hows it overturned the france pen when he got a touch on ball, but not overturned Argentina one where guy didn’t get anywhere near the ball
I think the france one was the perfect use of VAR, waited for game to stop, ref was not sure he got it right so reviewed it and corrected his decision in his opinion.
I happen to agree with ref totally at first i thought good challenge but on slow mo thought he took the player down.
Had that been us V Utd (my scale) i would have been demanding a pen. Not sure if the rules agree with me though cause of the most miniscule of touches. Pen for me though so VAR worked there.
Your second point i think you are spot on but it goes back to the ref having to think he has made a mistake or this clear and obvious bit but that one should have been a pen too. In terms of VAR though the ref got it wrong in live play and didnt use VAR so not really VARs fault
I'm not to sure I understand this var business, every goal is reviewed i think. Then is it at the refs discretion or what?

Any assertion that something is a fact can benefit from being backed up.Does that comment need a source ? Surely by its nature it can only improve decisions. If decision was wrong and VAR doesnt reverse it no improvement.
If a decision is overturned cause it was wrong in the first place the objective has been met.
I have actually been impressed with VAR thus far in the comp as it has not really slowed the matchs down and so far i think it has been used sensibly.
We still have points to discuss/disagree over but some obvious mistakes have been cleared up.
Goaline tech been 100% correct so far also![]()
