Just a reminder that Sam Allardyce and Tony Pulis were able to thrive for many years in the Premier League off little more than set pieces...Because the standard isn’t as good as the PL.
This World Cup has been very enjoyable to watch but the fact so many goals have been penalties and set pieces shows that the quality of club football is a lot better.
International football seems to be more about mental ability than physical.
Walker cramped up horrendously towards the end of the Colombia match. The rest might do him good.Mido is suggesting on social media that Walker should be dropped for the Sweden match and replaced with Dier. He says brains and ball playing ability are more important than speed against a team like Sweden.

I really wasn't sure about him at centre-half before the tournament started, but he's adapted to it pretty well.
His positioning hasn't been too bad and his pace lets him operate as a very effective sweeper.
Suffering pre-Penaltyitis perhaps??It was slightly odd seeing him cramp up that badly

...while making John Stones look like a reactionary moron.Looks like Uruguay are going to show Colombia how to really play filthy South American football. Suarez looks 'pumped', so I'm expecting something truly appalling.
