So we're blaming Die Welt for Mexico suddenly becoming superhuman? Meanwhile, because of course 'Muricans have an opinion about things that don't involve them...
Is it coincidence that a fair number of our rumoured targets aren't there? De Ligt; Pulisic, Zaha, Martial and......errrr......well......Jack Grealish.
Lacazette, Aubameyang and M'Khitaryan haven't done much either........okay, they're not there........but is Ozil in the big games?
From TalkSHITE... World Cup hero Aleksandar Kolarov has dedicated his match-winning goal for Serbia against Costa Rica to ex-Tottenham star Goran Bunjevcevic. Bunjevcevic, the Serbian Football Association’s sporting director since 2016, played for Spurs between 2001 and 2006 and was capped 16 times for his nation. In April this year, the 45-year-old suffered a stroke and required emergency surgery.Kolarov said: “We dedicate this win to our Director [Goran Bunjevcevic], and we want him to know that we are all supporting him. He’s had some health problems. We want to relay this message to him and his family that we are 100 per cent behind him.” I want to join Kolarov and send my best wishes to Goran...which is probably a lot more charitable than I was towards him during his stay at WHL. What a ****ing hypocrite, eh?
Nothing hypocritical. Can wish him well as a person whilst wishing he'd never pulled our shirt on. As I recall, he gave his all for our team. Sadly that wasn't very much. Still, get well soon Goran.
What's hypocritical is how, at the same time Bunjy was in the team, fans were lauding Gary Doherty - and Gary Doherty was ****e.
It was nice of the South Korean manager to throw Spurs under the bus in claiming that we overplayed Sonny this season. The truth is perhaps a little less palatable to Korean ears. He's no great shakes as a manager and there's not a lot of talent in the rest of the team. For 80 minutes they were second best to a very poor Sweden and only perked up when the manager withdrew the totally immobile 6' 6" Korean centre forward, whose lack of mobility was a godsend to the ageing Swedish central defender detailed to mark him. Sonny wore the look of a man who had to carry the hopes of his nation as well as his 9 outfield team mates, the goalkeeper played very well. Germany and Mexico should romp to wins against both sides.
Vertonghen may be playing for Belgium, but he's still swearing in English! Not happy with the officials or some of his teammates, apparently.
One day it might occur to a Belgium coach that Hazard and De Bruyne don't work in the same team as they keep getting in one another's way trying to get into the exact same position. Of course it might dawn on somebody when one of the players retires or flounces out of international duty because of reasons. Meanwhile, from HYS... Alistair: Why are so many teams in the World Cup showing such a lack of urgency? Particularly the so called ‘big’ teams. Sideways passing around the back Just a thought, Alistair, maybe it's because there's more than one match in a World Cup campaign, so going balls-out in your opening match isn't the most intelligent suggestion?
