I’d have taken Palmer, Wharton and Gibbs-White but I haven’t seen the actual squad yet so don’t know who I’d replace or if those three deserve a place more than who has been picked. If Henderson is still getting picked then I’m lost for words. To be fair, Palmer had one good season and he got put into world-class territory by some pundits way too early on the back of that. Foden has seemingly peaked too early in his career too.

England only have Harry Kane and maybe Jude Bellingham as truly world-class players. Everyone else is either a tier or two below that.
Foden has won 6 league titles, 3 FA Cups, 5 League Cups, a Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup. Unlike most players his age, he's already married and has three kids, and he earns more than £200,000 a week. His career has already been an incredible success and he's a lot more advanced in his personal life than the average 25-year-old these days. It doesn't really surprise me that he's lost focus, there's not a lot for him to prove or gain out of sacrificing his health or private life now.

Married with kids but still found the need to go off and shag the hotel maid in Iceland. Or something like that.

He didn't shag anyone, he got in trouble for inviting girls back to the team hotel, breaching COVID rules.
Ye, he just sat next to the stunning Icelandic girl on the hotel bed and discussed what the lyrics of Pearl Jam's 'Yellow Ledbetter' referred to, until she felt tired and left, with absolutely nothing happening between the two.

We've all used that excuse.

“No, babe, I didn’t cheat on you. I just invited them back to the hotel so the other lads like Kyle Walker could cheat on their wives but I would NEVER EVER do that to you! I love you.”

Foden could be a player who would benefit from a move away from Man City now if he wanted to reignite his international career , hasnt he been there since he was about 6 months old or something , , great player just maybe got a little bit too comfortable and complacent.
but like you say when you have that sort of wealth and life, does he have the hunger or desire too? , a common argument you could make for most young players these days

I can't remember Foden ever having a good game for England, I'd certainly take Morgan Gibbs-White ahead of him, he's the highest scoring English Premier League player this season (but obviously he's not been picked either).

I shagged a girl from Iceland once and it was great. Oh hang on, no, it was Farm Foods not Iceland.

I'm surprised he's picked Kane. :emoticon-0145-shake
