They wanted a backup to Rodri and he was seen as a ‘cheap’ option but he wasn’t exactly young when they signed him. In fact, he’s older than Rodri.
They would’ve been better off keeping Roméo Lavia. They signed that Nico González from Porto in the winter 2025 transfer window for about £50 million and he actually could be a long-term successor to Rodri and Man City were playing better this season when González was starting.

Good old dynamic pricing - i read that the ticket agencies are taking 30% commission on every ticket sale.
