Apart from Guyana. Most of the islands are nearer the southern part of the American continent.
Que? Guyana isn't an Island. Anyway, the vast majority of the West Indies and the Caribbean nations are considered part of North America. I suppose the main one that isn't would be Trinidad and Tobago. For the record, there are plenty of islands in the West Indies that are closer to North America than South America.

I know what and where Guyana is.

Then why did you say, "apart from Guyana, most of the islands are closer to South America"? Makes no sense. Why even mention Guyana?
You’ve changed my full stop into a comma. “Apart from Guyana.” It is definitely not in the northern part of the American continent. Then I made reference to the islands.

Eh? You asked which continent the West Indies were in, I said North America, then you said, "apart from Guyana". I am asking why you even mentioned Guyana?

Because Guyana is a constituent part of the West Indies cricket team.
Now you are beginning to make sense, I was starting to get worried about you and was weird that neither of us thought of the West Indies when we were speaking about the continents last night. To be honest, I don't think I knew Guyana played in the West Indies cricket team(probably because Guyana isn't in the West Indies) but it makes sense considering it was British and the West Indies were probably short of players.
