Both the early games could be spicy and there’s a lot at stake across that group. And either way, Spurs get a key player back early. Kind of hoping Uruguay progress from a Spurs perspective.

Opposite for me, Bentancur’s been one of, if not our best player this season, want him back asap so he gets a little rest. Love Sonny but we can’t pretend he’s been useful this season for one reason or another, he’s even been disappointing for Korea too whereas Bentancur’s arguably been their standout player, more so than Valverde who I was tipping as a possible player of the tournament. Ghana gonna be well up for this too, social media has been rife with anti-Suarez posts, lol.

Yeah I mean if we got them both back I wouldn’t be complaining. My thinking is that we’ve had Bissouma and Skipp home all tournament and Pierre is already gone so if Bentancur plays another game or two and can only start on the bench for the first game back then it’s better than losing Sonny in the same way. Lets hope for Ghana and Portugal wins.

The technology is not accurate enough to make these millimetre decisions, I would love to know how they ascertain the exact moment the pass is made or the ball leaves the body of the player making the assist for example, they are also relying on these lines being drawn accurately etc. Whenever I have seen screenshots of these offsides and shoddy lines drawn on a screen, it does not have an accurate look about it at all, so coming up with millimetre decisions is all a bit meh. There needs to be a margin of error built into it, with the benefit of doubt going to the attacker.

Optimal result in this game is Partey sent off and banned from all football for deliberately breaking Suarez's leg
 
So much for Uruguay being my dark horses and Valverde as a possible player of the tournament <laugh>
 
What a World Cup this has been though, still yet to fully complete the group stages and it’s been one of the best and most exciting tournaments in recent memory for me. Tons of upsets and great games.

Well, you can still have your pants around your ankles
while Grealish is active in the England squaf. :)

Meanwhile, fingers crossed that Bentancur is
not seriously injured (could be a blessing in disguise
for Spurs though) .
