The way pundits and commentators tried bigging up Joe Allen like he was genuinely the Welsh Pirlo was embarrassing. The guy’s spent the majority of his career in the championship playing for the likes of Stoke and Swansea ffs.

A shame he couldn’t pull something out the bag against Iran but he’s done so much for that national side that he’s paid his weight in full. Think he’s done now though at international level, hard to see him being around for the Euros and I doubt they’ll even qualify for it with the squad they have.
