Elaborate - Labour* * - I recall sending an email to the Controller of a German subsidiary where I was a NED...... His explanation for an item in the Monthly Report was ‘vague’. So I asked him to elaborate. Heard nothing back and when I visited the following month, he was distinctly ‘cold’ towards me. Turns out he didn’t know/understand the word elaborate so he looked it up in a German / English dictionary. It said ‘labour/work harder’ Just shows how easily things can be lost in translation ...
