Their fans have been miserable all season and the FA Cup won't soften their fall off the cliff

Bookmarked for next season when you can see if you want to trade places
So you agree then, this season better?

No their season is a disaster equivalent to Wigan winning the FA Cup and being relegated
But they have won something!
Think of Liverpool, every season they enter many competitions they have little chance of winning (and usually don't), at least Arsenal have won something this season (a competition Liverpool were in for a while).
Now the extra CL money may have come in handy for them but for Liverpool would make very little difference because their owners work on a sell to buy basis and pocket the rest

Guess what they won the FA Cup a few other times in recent years

Got them **** all those other times, but let's see if this one makes up for no CL <ok>

This is really an amazing question as like someone's already said it is a non question
.
One team has got 2 trophies (one domestic and one European) and has got a place in the CL.

The other has a play off for the CL and a two place ranking advantage in the pl (4th vs 6th)

The only reason it is even asked are the clubs involved.

I know that people want to have some silver lining but sometimes it is better to swallow the pill than to look faintly ridiculous:bandit: (sorry Saint. Nothing personal)

I understand your confusion but if it helps, CL qualification is only any good if you believe you can do something with it (apart from earning money) <ok> :emoticon-0100-smile
Not starting a pissing contest but barring one manager - i think our record in CL - and i mean during premier league history shows that we always try hard in that comp. cheifly cause we never know when we are next going to get in, arsenal have been in the comp what twenty years and been to one final, we have been to two finals, numerous semi's and later stages regularly WHEN we qualify.

That is for people like us but both Saint and Za have always maintained (i think) that they would rather watch classy football for whole season than win pots, i am not certain, but I think they have made statements alluding to the odd game of negative football is okay.

I actually do think its interesting see where people place the marker on this topic.
Spurs have been fantastic to watch this year but finished potless much like our Suarez season.
There can only be four trophies (give or take a few) which can be won per season.
Maybe saint and z are right?

Maybe entertaining football all year round is the way forward.
I think my opinion is that i dont mind negative if its a tactical negative, ie Playing Barca you need to try something.
But going like that every game even winning every game would possibly bore me?

Think someone trying to start a fight <laugh>

I'm not sure how serious people are being here?! <laugh>

Clearly 2 trophies and CL qualification is better than No trophies and no guaranteed CL football <confused>

In the premier league era how many teams have come from 6th or below to win the league? Probably the last two seasons and that's it.

We've got a lot stronger base to build from than they have.

True. But the question was who's had the better season - Clearly Utd have.

If we're discussing who's got the brighter future then it's a closer call.

The answer is surely Utd's season.

A better question would be woodyer prefer to watch this seasons highlight reel for us or for Utd? Scintilating heavy metal football, or a Mikitaryan flick and offside goal hoofball?

No, the question was "would you swap seasons?".
Meaning would you rather be in their shoes than ours. Perhaps I over-simplified, but I thought it was obvious that I meant in context, as part of the ongoing history of both clubs, and not one season taken in isolation. Clearly 4th isn't that great of an achievement in itself (though it is progress, nonetheless), it's what it means in terms of our recent past and potential for the future that was open to debate.
