We needed cl football to get money to atract better players to progress forward. Utd don't need that as will pay the going rate for quality.
They won trophies which is what you always want as a fan, but feck me I couldn't put up with how fecking boring Mourinho has made them look, successful or not.

I do love the Europa pot though, very nice looking trophy.
None of them are happy to have won the League cup or Europa though as they've sneered at everyone for years saying "Them ones dont count.They're pointless" So I cant see how they can enjoy this seasons bought trophies tbh

I wouldn't.
It's always good to win a pot, of course, and I'm not trying to denigrate the EL, but the only real measure of your status is league position. Obviously we don't know if we can build on this, but if it's the start of an upward trajectory for us, then it's far more valuable in the long run.

tricky one.
Liverpool pro - exciting football at times. Especially first half where we were brilliant.
Liverpool pro - finished 4th, strong points total and clear improvement.
Liverpool con - no trophies and only made play off of CL
Ubited pro - 2 trophies and group stages of CL
united con - 6th place finish shows no improvement on previous years despite big signings.
United con - horrible footvall to endure all season, especially at home where worse than us breaking down teams.
Can make a point for either, if we'd won a cup would be easy choice but united got to celebrate two finals which very jealous about but do it playing dull football. Honestly, can't really split them.

When we won the CL it was a great adventure, but it meant nothing beyond that, we were still pants in the league. Winning cups - any cup - is (relatively) easier than the league - a handful of games, poor opponents in some, a bit of luck, nowhere near as testing as the PL.
Noone remembers who finished 4th two years ago. (If I had to bet it was probably Arse) Most people remember who won the Europa.
In a heartbeat. A trophy out weighs fourth place. Two trophies doubly out weigh fourth place. 2 + CL > CL x 0.5
That said, 9-1-0 = ZZZZZZZZZ
