Shirt sponsorship is one of the necessary evils of the modern game , but ask yourself this - does your teams sponsor encourage you to buy that product ?

I for one have no intention of INVESTING IN AFRICA , never gambled using TOMBOLA or BOYLESPORTS ,and never bought a car from REG VARDY.

But I was quite partial to the wonderful product made locally by VAUX.

They may well be a lot of money in this for Wonga.

If Ashley puts them in control of the season cards finance scheme.

Buy your £400 season card over nine moths. Only £37,890 to pay back.

IF? It's a fact mate.

Good news then. It should never have been tampered with in the first place! So this is Mike and Dereks climb down without having actually looked like they have had to climb down. I'm sure it'll be put down as a marketing masterstroke by Wonga to win the fans over. But for me this wreaks badly of a certain someone admitting he was wrong without admitting he was wrong!

Credit to the Wonga bosses for their gesture in renaming the stadium St James Park, and thus making the fans who were up in arms yesterday (there was a 10 minute segment on the news FFS!) happy for the company that was unacceptable yesterday to be the new shirt sponsors.

For the record, I don't see a problem with payday loans companies, if people are so in the **** that they need a loan, and can't get one due to their own status, then rather than chirp on, they should work towards a better life, use it as motivation.

I stand by for people's grief for this opinion...

Disagree, I don't think Ashley could give two ****s what we think, it's Wonga guaranteeing that everyone buys their shirt next year because they restored our club's tradition.

Hmm one point with that though is who stands to profit most with selling of shirts? Wonga or Mike?

whoooaaa keep up maggies

Fat Mike knew fine well that the first company to pay for the chance of sponsoring the stadium would rename it back to St James'. The man's a genius he's basically engineered a means to get paid to revert to the status quo, at the expense of annoying you fools for a couple of months.
