It's dropping down the list of excuses now but the initial reason for not going was the green agenda, didn't want to be seen causing all that extra pollution by flying out there.
I said if they get to the final then i might watch it. But its no use pretending, I've zero interest so ill be giving it a miss
Think the last bastion of support was towards the queen, once she died, the link is less. Percentage of Anglos decreasing, culturally departing and economically as well. Plus Williams writings and words seem towards a final end of being head of state of foreign countries. Can't see it lasting too much longer.
The Price of Wales is currently in New York, where yesterday he presented The Earthshot Prize at the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit, rewarding exceptional environmental projects. Leaving there to fly to Australia for one football match would not have sat well with that.
11 am UK time, but keep your tele & radio off until after the match coz they are 10 hours ahead of us.
But it's ok to fly there? Why not present by video link? If he took a charter flight then fair enough. He could have done the same going to Australia (meaning the plane was going anyway so no impact).
Turns out I was a month out anyway, his three day visit to New York is 18th-20th September, not August.
“Bloody football William. It’s all you think about. Go on then piss off with your mates again and leave me with the kids.” Think we’ve all heard that one..
Old joke alert you think more of football than you do of me!! I think more of rugby league than I do of you!!
And another. Mate of mine spent a lot of his weekends at football and in the end his wife had had enough and asked for a divorce. It was a real shame because they'd been married for 26 seasons.[/QUOTE]
I can’t wait for this but I’m also so nervous. James being available is good news but I think being on the bench is right. They were so impressive against Australia, and we’ve got that option to bring on if needed. Let’s do this.
