I agree the performance was on a par with forest but this time we got the result. Can't really expect us to be perfect every game when there's an important game every 3 or 4 days. Game management is a key part of that, and that includes doing just enough to win when playing badly.
I don't want him to take the touch. I want salah to. Szobo just needed to toe poke it home away from the keeper. He hit it back across goal towards the keeper and got unlucky then cos it could have gone anywhere. Salah did the hard work making the intercept but had to get it in target or take the touch and try shoot. Even taking the touch maybe he is fouled.
The thing is after 6 games and 15 points that puts us 25 from safety and 55 from 4th 32 games, 55 points. 1.8 points per game from here. 18 wins from 32 gets 4th.
Szobo hit it directly infront of him side footed and the keeper just spread himself running along the line and got a leg on it, almost even squirmed through his legs. It’s one of them that 9/10 goes in. Nothing else szobo needed or should have done diff imo
100% agree. If Ally saves that we say it was world-class. Cannot think of anything Szobbo could have done differently there. He did have a ****e game though, and as I keep saying, when he is off the boil the whole midfield is dysfunctional. But no need to run through the list of who was terrible - let's just say Virgil and Ally were solid, apart from one idiotic mishap, Ibu was immense, and Gravenberch was far and away not our worst midfielder. Onwards and upwards.
Side foot is the point. Connect straight on that goes in. Sure he's unlikely.itndeflects at it does but the point is hes given the keeper a chance that he shouldn't have had
This is what I said earlier, I don't blame him at all for that. He's a couple of yards away from the keeper and from his perspective the keeper's frame almost fills the goal - he has a split-second to get something on it and no chance to pick his spot. Nowhere near as bad a miss as some are making out imo.
