Thanks for that FFC4L, interesting that Wolves (and their local media) are still banging on about that game. There was a thread recently on the old 606 board where the Wolves were out in force.

My recollection (and I think I got this across in the thread) was that on the day, Fulham fans weren't complaining because we thought Wolves were a dirty, vicious team. Watching from the Hammersmith End, the frustration was more because of the cynical, niggly tackles repeatedly made to break up attacks and halt our momentum. None of those fouls were in any way injury-threatening, but once Wolves went 1-0 up they weren't interersted in playing football. The frustration was compounded by a ref who was happy to just give free-kicks and not get his cards out, meaning Wolves knew they could get away with doing it over and over again.

The game came in a run of games against teams who played a similar way or who were rash and reckless in their challenges and we lost more than one important player to injury in a short period of time. That was what fuelled Danny's comments in the media, for which some in the West Midlands and the Potteries will never forgive him.

At the time, my view of Zamora's injury was pretty distant, and I just couldn't tell if there was intent to hurt/foul or not. Watching it on Match of the Day subsequently it looked like a fair tackle with unfortunate consequences. I really hope the game can be played in a better atmosphere this time (not optimistic about that - I think it will be a bit of a cauldron for Danny) and we can come away with another deserved 3pts.

I saw that thread. I commend you for trying to converse with those childish morons. I don't have the time of day for them.

It will be a heated game for sure. Hopefully a good experience for me! :)

Captain- I agree pretty much word for word with your analysis of wolves' tactits. Also in the hammersmith end, what I saw was a cynical rather than malicious wolves team. They weren't trying to hurt our players, it was just constant shirt tugging and trips from behind which didn't seem like heavy enough tackles to book their players. In the end christophe berra did it once too many times, got 2 bookings and we scored the winner from the consequent free kick and it seemed to me like justice had really been done.

Aye-Aye Captain; and Robespierre you remain the Incorruptible. The constant shirt pulling and niggling foul play was what got me frustrated with Wolves and justice was done in the end. "Disgrace to the Premiership" may have been seen as being over-the-top, but simply a reflection of this frustration.

My view from the Haynes stand was seemed to reinforce that replays that the Zamora tackle itself was not a Red-Card offence. However, I think that the tendancy to catch trailing legs that many defenders use did not help.

As shown by the moronic comments on the old 606 site, they will be on Danny's case. Hopefully there will be enough of us up there to support him and the team.

If Henry has a go at Zamora on Saturday, he will be totally vilified. But I think he'd be sensible (unlike some of the morons).

It's kind of weird not having a bunch of Wolves fans on this site slagging off Murphy this week for his (IMO accurate) observations about Wolves, Stoke and Blackburn. Where's the bile? Where's the rage? Where are the Tottenham fans trashing Arsenal, and vice versa?

Going to the BBC site was like going to familiar pub to chat with friends, but finding a bad garage band rehersing loudly in the corner. I'm not sure I can get used to this.

It's been blown up by the media, surely. BZ didn't blame Henry, and Henry has expressed his regrets many times. It'll be a fiercely contested game nevertheless. If we win, we're almost there in terms of safety, but for Wolves they need to get 3 points here & in a couple of others. A draw does look likely except that Fulham is a steadier team whose performance is more predictable and Wolves could have one of their wow days or one of their low days, so it could be an easy win for either.

I agree DR. The format here, the way it's set out, is a bit like a list too.

I'm not sure that I miss the bile from fans of other clubs. The friendly interaction was one of the things I miss about the old 606, but I can recall Arsenal fans just taking over our board with moans about Hughes supposed conduct during the Schwarzer transfer sage, or Wolves fans banging on about how they aren't a dirty side for weeks. It got so that you couldn't log on without seeing another 3 threads all regurgitating the same prejudices, misinformation and hatred. I don't miss that at all. Swings and roundabouts.

I kind of do miss the wind up merchants, they were entertaining at least. But there's something as too much of a good thing. They got irritating.

It's a double edged sword - While I like some of the banter, some of the Wolves comments were moronic, while the Michael Jackson themes also overwhelmed the 606 site.

Looking forward to a favourable result tomorrow with the visit to Molineux - First time I've been there.

I heard earlier today that Wolves have recalled 21 year old striker Sam Vokes from a loan spell at Norwich. I used to watch Vokes play when he came through the youth set up at Bournemouth. I always rated him - a targetman of a centre forward, with good movement. In his last full season at Bournemouth he got 12 goals in a struggling team that ultimately got relegated. Not bad for a teenager. When he moved to Wolves (then in the Championship) he seemed to be settling in and scoring reasonably well, but I don't think he's ever been given any time on the pitch in the Premier League. He's played for the full Welsh side as well, scoring a couple of international goals.

Clearly, someone at Wolves doesn't think he's good enough for the Premier League, and if he's called upon tomorrow I hope he doesn't prove them wrong. I was surprised that things seemed to stall for him when Wolves went up, and their current injuries may just give him the chance to change that. If nothing else, he's a player with good potential. who I would love to see do well, just so long as that doesn't start tomorrow. Anyway, I suspected that most of you who are going to the match wouldn't know much about him, so I thought I'd mark your card.

I had concerns seeing banner headlines about Mick wants hostile crowd. Danny was well booed, but supported by a noisy away end.

We should have taken our chances and not gone behind. All 3 substitutions had impact Demps had a poorer game. Another point, but MH being sent from the bench at a Brede yellow does not help the fair play league position.

Chelsea also got a booking in their win against Wet Spam, so I don't think we've fallen behind too far. Does a manager being sent to the stands affect our fair play record?

Fair play is so much more than just referee.

    R/Y = Red & Yellow Cards - Maximum 10 pts per Match (Red 3pts, Yellow 1pt)
P/P = Positive Play - Maximum 10 pts per Match
R/O = Respect Towards Opponent - Maximum 7 pts per Match
R/R = Respect Towards Referee - Maximum 7 pts per Match
B/O = Behaviour of Officials - Maximum 6 pts per Match
